Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 3: The Top 10 Studs You Don't Know About

Raj PrashadJun 6, 2018

Fantasy football success relies on how well you draft your team, if your players can stay healthy, and being a master of the waiver wire.

One component of being a master of the waiver wire depends on you knowing about the guys no one is talking about.

Ahead are the top 10 sleepers you should pick up immediately.

The points compiled over the past two weeks are from PPR leagues.

10. Jacoby Jones, WR

1 of 10

The Houston Texans lost receiver Kevin Walter for at least the next game with what is being called a bruised collarbone.

Walter is the No. 2 receiver on the Texans depth chart behind Andre Johnson. Jacoby Jones is slated to fill in for Walter on the Houston high-powered offense and should see looks from quarterback Matt Schaub.

Jones has garnered 13.3 and 7.8 points in the last two games, and is owned in only 2.2 percent of NFL.com leagues.

The fifth-year receiver should put up consistent points, but has a high ceiling with Schaub spreading the ball around.

9. Preston Parker, WR

2 of 10

On the Tampa Bay Buccaneers official roster, Preston Parker is listed below standout names like Mike Williams and Arrelious Bennett, but Parker has made a name for himself in just two weeks of action.

Parker had a total of four receptions for 42 yards in his rookie year, but has already surpassed that total with 10 total receptions for 142 yards.

The second-year player out of North Alabama has garnered 6.2 and 15.8 points in his last two games, but is owned in zero percent of NFL.com leagues.

8. Jason Hanson, K

3 of 10

Jason Hanson, the Detroit Lions kicker, has taken full advantage of the plethora of scoring quarterback Matt Stafford has provided.

Through two weeks, Hanson has nailed all nine of his PATs, while connecting on all four of his field goals- 23, 28, 28, and 51 yards respectively.

Hanson is the No. 2 ranked kicker on NFL.com leagues, has 9 and 14 points, and is only owned in 13.2 percent of leagues.

7. Nate Burleson, WR

4 of 10

Another Detroit Lion who has taken advantage of Stafford's arm is receiver Nate Burleson.

Despite playing next to star receiver Calvin Johnson, Burleson has been consistent in both games, catching five passes for 60 yards in the first contest, while snagging seven passes for 93 yards in Week 2.

Burleson is only owned in 18.4 percent on NFL.com leagues, but has put up 13 and 16.3 points over the last two weeks.

6. Danario Alexander, WR

5 of 10

Danario Alexander showed up in full force in the St. Louis Ram's Monday night tilt with the New York Giants at the New Meadowlands.

Alexander quickly became quarterback Sam Bradford's downfield threat in one night, catching three passes for 122 yards and touchdown.

One game generally doesn't mean much, but Alexander (owned in only 0.9 percent of NFL.com leagues) and his 23.2 points in Week 2 should offer a boom-or-bust addition.

5. Denarious Moore, WR

6 of 10

Another young up-and-comer is the Oakland Raiders Denarious Moore.

The rookie, Moore, had five receptions for 146 yards receiving, one touchdown, and a rush for 25 yards.

The dynamic receiver obliterated the Buffalo Bills secondary, but will face a tough test in Week 3 against the New York Jets.

Moore is only owned in 0.7 percent of NFL.com fantasy leagues, but is arguably the No. 1 receiver in Oakland due to injuries to their depleted receiving core.

4. Jeff King, TE

7 of 10

Kevin Kolb has been consistent in his first two games for the Arizona Cardinals, posting quarterback ratings of 90 or above in both games.

His favorite red zone target is tight end Jeff King.

King has caught four receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He is only owned in 1.1 percent of NFL.com leagues, but has 14.4 and 11.6 points respectively. King also ranks seventh in tight ends, above the likes of Jason Witten, Dallas Clark, and Owen Daniels.

3. Fred Davis, TE

8 of 10

The Rex Grossman era is in full effect throughout Washington, as the Redskins are off to a 2-0 start.

A huge component to their success has been tight end Fred Davis.

Davis is the sixth ranked fantasy tight end, but is only owned in 15.3 percent of NFL.com leagues. The tight end caught five passes for 105 yards in Week 1, good for 17.5 points, followed by six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown, good for 20.6 points.

The veteran tight end will continue to see receptions as Grossman proceeds to light up opposing defensive secondaries.

2. Eric Decker, WR

9 of 10

There is a reliable Denver Bronco in fantasy football not named Kyle Orton.

Eric Decker has come out of nowhere, after only recording six receptions for 106 yards in his rookie year, the second-year receiver has snagged eight passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns through two weeks.

Decker also returns kicks, bringing one back for a touchdown in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders.

With injuries throughout the Broncos offense, and Kyle Orton's persistency to spread the ball around, Decker has huge upside, recording 14.3 and 28.3 points over the past two weeks. The receiver is only owned in 1.2 percent of NFL.com leagues.

1. Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB

10 of 10

No. 1 on the list of fantasy football sleepers has to be Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick has emerged as a legit fantasy starter, ranked No. 5 out of quarterbacks, and is a great option if you are in trouble at the quarterback position.

The seventh-year quarterback is off to a fantastic start, throwing for 472 yards, seven touchdowns, and only one interception in two starts. Fitzpatrick is owned in only 39.5 NFL.com leagues, while putting up 26.7 and 25.5 points in the past two weeks.

He is a quick pickup off the waiver wire and a must-start this week against a questionable New England Patriots pass defense.
