NFL Power Rankings: 3 Undefeated Teams That Need Strong Week 3 Showings
What do the first two weeks tell us? It depends on the team in question. If a team that was expected to do well does well, then it probably means expectations were about right.
But if a team that nobody expected anything from goes 2-0, then there are more questions. It could always mean that preseason expectations were wrong. That's certainly been known to happen.
Also, the wins could be more of a false positive than anything.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In Week 3, these teams will get the test. Are they contenders, or pretenders? When the week's action is over, we'll have a stronger grasp on that.
Buffalo Bills
At the beginning of the season, nobody really expected the Patriots vs. Bills game in Week 3 to be a showdown between undefeated teams.
But both teams are 2-0 and both have looked quite impressive offensively on their way to that record.
The Bills don't need to beat the Patriots, but they really can't afford to have the Patriots walk into Buffalo and win in a blowout.
New England will come out strong and they certainly won't be afraid to run it up if they get the chance.
A close loss would be okay. But if New England blows Buffalo out, the Bills will be seen more as a fluke than anything else. Playing in a tough division, the Bills need to believe that they can hang with the top teams.
Houston Texans
Houston has been impressive thus far. They have looked very good offensively and better than many expected on defense.
Now they are facing one of the top offenses in the league. New Orleans will test Houston's defense and can beat the Texans in a shootout.
The Superdome is a tough place to play. New Orleans could win this game and Houston would be fine.
But if Houston is a real threat to get to the playoffs and make noise once they get there, they can't be blown out by the Saints.
Washington Redskins
Like the two aforementioned teams, a win isn't too important. Sure, it's a nice perk, but the Redskins can maintain their status as a playoff contender whether they win or not.
They play the Cowboys in Dallas. The Cowboys are still a team that needs a win. If the Redskins win on Sunday night, it goes a long way in establishing Dallas as a pretender.
If the Cowboys blow the Redskins out, then Washington is the team that's more at risk of being seen as a pretender.
