Leeds United vs. Manchester United: Even Red Devils B Squad Is Dominant
Manchester United has been steamrolling opponents this year. They have done so despite numerous injuries, and with their B-squad.
Sir Alex Ferguson made sweeping changes to his lineup for this Carling Cup match. Not out of necessity, but just to keep these guys in shape and give his regulars a bit of a rest.
Ferguson's changes included putting Michael Carrick in central defense. He was alongside young defender Ezekiel Fryers.

Antonio Valencia slid back to right-back so Mame Diouf could get some run in the midfield. Diouf was alongside Giggs and Park Ji-Sung.
Federico Macheda also got a chance to run with the starters as part of a front three with Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen.
And through all of these changes, the Red Devils did not miss a beat. They trounced Leeds 3-0.
Owen netted the first two goals for the Red Devils. Both came in the first half. He netted the first in the 15th minute and the second in the 32nd minute. That capped all of the scoring for the half.
Ryan Giggs came out in the second half ready to rock. He netted a goal in the 45th minute, and the Red Devils cruised from there.
This match was little more than an exhibition for Manchester United. They got their subs some valuable playing time and got a chance to work on the fundamentals of team play.
