NFL Power Rankings: Where ESPN Experts Got It Wrong
There isn't a more highly-anticipated release each week in the sports world than the ESPN Power Rankings. We may think they don't mean anything, but come on, you know you check them out each week.
ESPN has just released their Week 3 Power Rankings, and they've made a couple mistakes worth noting.
To begin, the Eagles are sitting pretty at No. 6. Behind them, the Falcons. I know power rankings are about ranking the best team at the current time, but didn't Atlanta beat Philadelphia on Sunday Night? That, and the fact that Michael Vick could be out for a few weeks, makes me think the Eagles aren't the sixth best team in the NFL today.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Their ground game is spearheaded by the ultra-elusive LeSean McCoy, a back who's becoming a household name, but I'm not sure the offensive line will keep their $100 million dollar quarterback upright all season.
I understand why the Packers top the list, but through two games, do you think the Bears are a better club than the Lions? Sure, if you're going off past seasons, Chicago gets the nod. But Detroit's offense is far more explosive and their defense is better than everyone thinks. I'm not sure how high the Lions should be, but how hard would it have been to flip-flop those two NFC North clubs?
For me, Jay Cutler just isn't consistent enough to keep the Bears in the top 10. The defense is solid, but their often-flustered quarterback will limit their success in 2011. Coming off a big loss against the high-powered Saints, it wouldn't have been a crime dropping the Bears out of the Top 10.
This could be nitpicking, but the 0-2 Rams and Dolphins are too high. The 49ers, Broncos and even the Cam Newton-led Panthers are more complete teams.
Still, overall, ESPN actually did a respectable job this week.
