WWE Raw Analysis: Last Night's Destruction of Another Tag Team
WWE Monday Night Raw saw the destruction of another tag-team last night. Awesome Truth, a team consisting of The Miz and R-Truth, were brought down more than a peg or two, and I will now find it hard to take this team seriously.
Awesome Truth arrived in the arena at last night’s event looking like a couple of children who’d been naughty. Granted, they had been naughty, but aren’t they supposed to have an attitude? I thought their bottom lips were going to start quivering at one point. They almost were...
They went to see the COO of the company Triple H and apologized profusely to him. Now, why on Earth would they want to do that? One of the best parts of Night of Champions was seeing this team, brought together by one conspiracy, take matters in their own hands.

I’d have taken anything over them apologizing. Battering Triple H in his office, causing the referees to go on strike or even walking out and refusing to perform would have been better than seeing them shaking in their wrestling boots.
The Awesome Truth is they looked like they were about to wet themselves from fear of The Game.
He didn’t fire them at this point, but he did fine them $250,000 for their abuse of the referee at Night of Champions. This seems a little excessive, especially considering the amount of referees The Game has tried to hospitalize in his career. This cried out “hypocrite!” to me.
When Miz and Truth gracefully accepted their disciplinary action, I chipped a tooth from grinding them so much! Why did they not explode, taking their frustrations out on The Game’s office, if not the man himself? Or they could have left and found some helpless jobber to batter—it wouldn’t have made a difference. The fact that they were kissing ass when they didn’t need to made me cringe.
Just wait, it gets better.
Triple H put Awesome Truth in a match against CM Punk and John Cena. Now, I have no complaints from the side of Cena and Punk as they put on a fantastic show and it was great to see them on the same page for just one night. I love it when enemies come together and put their differences aside.
Think about when the castaways from Lost joined “The Others” to fight off a bigger enemy; it was awesome, right? Anyway, I digress...
My problem was with Awesome Truth (surprise, surprise). They spent the whole match doing exactly what the referee told them, not playing dirty and generally sucking up to the higher authorities.
Why would they suck up to people who are supposed to be in on this company-wide conspiracy? It made me wonder whether R-Truth and Miz are in on the conspiracy themselves...
After finally losing the match to Punk and Cena (specifically Punk, to my surprise!), Awesome Truth were greeted by the COO who fired them on the spot.
What?
Really?
Little Jimmy!
I am so annoyed that they have gone to these lengths because Miz battered the referee, then made The Cerebral Assassin look weak by battering him at Night of Champions.
I thought the tag-team division was supposed to be going through a bit of a revival and one of their best hopes of that has now been fired. Awesome Truth was an original tag-team with plenty going for them and while I realize they obviously aren’t really fired, despite being removed from the roster page on WWE.com, I can’t help but think they have destroyed one of their greatest prospects in terms of the tag team division.
Maybe I am being little hasty in my analysis of this storyline. I mean, let’s face it, it’s a novelty if someone stays off television for more than a week if they have been kayfabe fired. It could be that they are set to make a return in an even bigger way than I ever could have expected, taking the tag-team division to new heights.
To be fair, taking the tag-team division to new heights would not be hard after three years of it being on the floor.
Hopefully The Miz and R-Truth can restore some pride and take control without regard of the consequences. Only time will tell before Hell in a Cell.
Good luck in your future endeavors.
