Felix Jones Injury Update: Latest on Cowboys RB's Availability for Week 3
The Dallas Cowboys can't afford any more injuries.
The secondary in Big D has been banged up all year. Dez Bryant is battling a quad injury. Tony Romo is playing with a cracked rib and punctured lung. And Miles Austin is slated to miss at least the next two weeks.
Thankfully, starting running back Felix Jones, who dislocated his shoulder during the Week 2 overtime victory in San Francisco, is not expected to miss any more time.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
According to the latest from ESPN Dallas, and in accordance with ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jones should be available for the Week 3 Monday Night Football matchup with the Washington Redskins.
Jones returned to the lineup on Sunday after the injury, but was far from effective.
In fact, Jones hasn't been very effective at all this season.
Through two games, Jones is averaging 2.7 yards per carry on 26 attempts. He's scored one touchdown, caught four passes and lost a fumble as well.
No running back looks good in the Cowboys' backfield, actually. Rookie DeMarco Murray and veteran Tashard Choice each have eight carries, and they've combined for 30 rushing yards and zero touchdowns.
Points have been hard to come by, wins have been even tougher and the overall health in Dallas is beginning to become a problem.
With Romo nursing a hole in his lung and cracked rib, the Cowboys have to find some semblance of a running game. Jon Kitna would fill in for Romo if he were unable to go, but the Cowboys expect both Romo and Jones to be in their backfield Monday night.
Something has to change if that is the case, though.
Romo's been sacked five times through two games. The running game is averaging less than three yards per carry. Plain and simple, the offensive line needs to wake up. With Dez Bryant and Austin both banged up, the only dependable weapon left outside the backfield is Jason Witten.
Not only do the Cowboys need Jones healthy, but they need him to be productive as well.
Expect to see Jones in the lineup on Monday night.
