Nike Hyperwarm Shield 2012: NFL Will Never Be the Same as Nike Takes over

Gabe ZaldivarSep 20, 2011

In 2012, the NFL will move from uniforms made by Reebok, and usher in a Nike renaissance. Using prototype pictures and college football evidence, we can assume that the NFL will never look the same.

There is no telling what Nike will do to separate their uniforms in 2012 from the ones that are currently being used. The company did release some photos of the Nike Hyperwarm Shield.

These are the items the players will wear under their unis, most likely on cold days. Here is a picture of how a Jets player would look.

This is just the beginning. Soon we will have the full complement of what Nike intends to do. For now, we can speculate based on their progress in the land of College Football.

We can assume that there won't be any gaffes the size of Under Armor's Maryland alternates. These provided a myriad of guffaws from fans. The NFL and Nike will be taking a much more measured approach for one of the most followed leagues in the world.

That being said, I think we may see Nike leaning toward something they accomplished with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Their all-black uniforms are fashion forward, without being XFL in tone.

While Nike will no doubt keep their new uniforms in close keeping with the jerseys on display today, there is no way they will fail to put their stamp on the league.

I am excited to see what they come up with to separate themselves from the uniforms we have grown accustomed to.

It's time for a makeover, and Nike is just the company to give it to us. There will be a few misses along with their many hits. This is a company that has always given us amazing apparel that sells at high volumes.

The NFL is about to change for the better.
