Ron Artest: Dancing with the Stars Will Repair Unwanted Bad Boy Image
Ron Artest, Metta World Peace or whatever you want to call him will use Dancing with the Stars to repair his bad boy image.
Artest has done just about everything in his power to redeem the Malace in the Palace brawl he helped instigate. He clearly doesn’t enjoy his bad boy image as evidence of his selling his NBA Championship ring for charity, changing his name to Metta World Peace and trying to become a bit of a goodie-two-shoes on the court.
Nothing will help repair his image more than the nation-wide cultural phenomenon Dancing with the Stars. People of all ages, including sports and non-sports fans, absolutely love the dancing competition.
DWTS is an enjoyable program that pits athletes and celebrities outside of their element and onto the ballroom floor. This is the most beneficial promotions for Artest because people will get to see the charismatic, funny and lovable side of Artest, which we often forget is there because of the 2004 brawl.
Artest wasn’t graceful on the dance floor, but he was entertaining. He did not score well, but he should receive a ton of the fan’s votes because the people will want to see if he can improve during his routines.
More importantly, people will want to see more of the odd, but witty humor from Artest. He was fun with the judges and even flirted a bit with the host. Artest also dressed like a Dru Hill’s Sisqo look-alike, which made him even funnier to watch.
People love irony, and it is rather ironic to see a 6’7” man with a petite dancer on the floor. He has appeal that very few participants can compete with during this event.
Artest already has the support of the crowd. When judge Len Goodman bashed him, the crowd cheered in support of Ron-Ron. The other judges noted his appeal, especially Bruno Tonioli.
Tonioli dubbed Artest “Ron the Dancetron” because of his power and flare on the hardwood. Clearly, Artest shows promise as an entertainer and will improve his routines with partner Peta Murgatroyd to earn the respect and support of the nation.
Don’t be shocked to see “Meta Peta” advance deep into the competition as Artest wins over the public and repairs his image.
