This Should've Been the Card For the Troops!

There have been many articles and comments on the UFC fight for the troops card,some good, but mostly bad. I too have some negative views, but realize they can't just give out PPV caliber fights, they'd lose money that way. So I've came up with a better card that could've actually worked. Lets see what everyone thinks...ENJOY!! (Wait)

Before we begin,there are a few things.

I don't believe a guy named Razak Al-Hassan should be fighting for our troops.(J/K)

I did like some people on the card, just not the match-ups.

I was trying to see things from Joe Silva and Dana Whites point of view, while doing what I would want to see.

So with that being said...Now Enjoy!!

Under Card

Ben Saunders vs Corey Hill

Both ultimate fighter alum, and let's face it TUF losers are usually ultimate fight night material. This is an interesting match up because both men are so similar, although Saunders is fighting at welterweight,he has also fought at lightweight. This is not a stretch,and I believe that it would be a good first fight.

Matt Arroyo vs George Sotiropoulos

Another TUF alum match,this should be a submission of the night candidate. Both are recognizable faces,and should provide some entertainment for the troops. I also wouldn't mind if this one were to air on T.V. to fill time slots up.

Manny Gamburyan vs Kurt Pellegrino

Batman v.s. The Anvil,sounds like a comic book title right? This would be a great match up,both have lost to Nate Diaz,and have similar styles of fighting. Manny needs to rebound from a loss at UFC 87,and Pellegrino will test him. If Gamburyan loses he may be done in the UFC,so this would be one of his most important fights to date.

Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs Jonathan Goulet

I took opponents of other fighters and matched them up! I don't believe they are good opponents for Kos and Swick yet,but would be great for each-other. This would be an interesting match,but does have dull potential. But hey,I felt bad just taking everyone off the card.

Frankie Edgar vs Matt Wiman

I like the match-up,but it's better suited for an under card fight,not a main card fight. Not much to say here...Let's move to the main card!!

MAIN CARD

Tim Credeur vs C.B. Dollaway

A re-match of their TUF 7 fight,which was quite entertaining. Both men would be looking to make an impact,and that could be great for the troops in attendance. I like Dollaway as a fighter,i mean he did pull off a peruvian neck tie! Credeur is also a solid fighter,and with some training could be a real monster!

Matt Hamill vs Houston Alexander

I like this match-up because both men have such different fighting styles. Alexander is a striker,and Hamill is a wrestler. It could be boring,but it could also be great! Both men are very recognizable,and this match would definitely get my attention.

Steve Cantwell vs Brandon Vera

Interesting fight,Cantwell was the WEC light-heavy weight champion,and Vera is a above average LHW fighter. A perfect test for both men,Vera needs a win to validate that huge paycheck he's getting. Cantwell needs to prove he's worthy of facing top contenders in the 205 weight class. A great fight for the troops to witness,as well as the viewers at home.

Co-Main Event: Josh Koscheck vs Mike Swick

Two men that are already on the card,but now they are facing each-other. Both are striving to move up the rankings,and this could help. Swick is a stud at 170,and Koscheck is a man on a mission. Both men would provide great entertainment,and an interesting fight. I'd probably be satisfied with this a main event,but wait there's more!

Co Main Event: Nate Diaz vs Joe Lauzon

Both good young 155 pounders,and both are fan favorites. They match-up pretty well,and are UFN veterans. They would provide a great fight,and it would please casual fans and hardcore fans. This in my opinion is a very solid main event. Great ground game,and both would look to stand up as well. Diaz would have the advantage on the ground,but Lauzon would have the stand up. I'd love to see it!

There you go,that's my version of UFN 16-Fight For The Troops. Not over the top,but not to shabby,right?
