Finally the First Good Action of Arsenal's Poor Season

Callum D'SouzaNov 24, 2008

Blessed with the best footballing brain the footballing world has ever seen, the vision of an eagle, and the skill of one of the best players in the world put together.

Cesc Fabregas is now the new Arsenal captain after William Gallas's poor actions towards fellow members of his team. This now means that Arsenal has one of the best midfielders in the world leading the Gunners and all of sudden, the Arsenal's future looks very very bright.

William Gallas' stripping of the captaincy was a bold move by Wenger, but it was the right one, and now both Gallas and Arsenal can start fresh. With Fabregas now leading Arsenal, I believe Arsenal will now evolve back into the team they should be and that Gallas will start playing like the center-half he was.

With a huge performance needed this weekend to overcome their rivals Chelsea, Arsenal will no doubt be full of confidence with their new captain ready to lead them. Arsenal should be back to an almost full squad and a win against Chelsea will inspire them with the much needed confidence they have been missing.

Fabregas is probably the most deserving player to receive the captaincy with Kolo Toure's recent form putting him out of contention. With Fabregas now the captain, he will be a lot less tempted with moves to bigger clubs. I believe the captaincy will make Fabregas an even greater player, who will now evolve into the most dominant football player.

Fabregas said, "It is a great honour for me to captain one of the biggest clubs in the world.” "It is a proud moment. I know it's a big responsibility but together with my teammates, I know we have the spirit and commitment to get back to winning ways and fulfil our potential."

One of the better parts is Fabregas is only at the tender age of 21 and has already player over 150 games for Arsenal while already showing he is a definite leader.

All of a sudden the future looks bright for Wenger's men and I feel that the spirit and atmosphere is back. The confidence is slowly rising and its only a matter of time until  Arsenal is back to their damaging best.

This is the best thing to happen to Arsenal in the past three years and hopefully it pays off and they can win a trophy and get back to their winning ways.

Good Luck Cesc!
