2011 Fantasy Football NFL Week 3: Quarterbacks (QB) Rankings / Projections

Sean E. DouglasJun 7, 2018

If you’ve struggled to put up numbers at the quarterback position and landed Cam Newton on the waiver wire last week, it’s time to go with him against the Jaguars. While Newton’s breakout performance against the Cardinals helped put him on the map, it was his second 400-yard performance against the Packers, which makes him a top ten fantasy quarterback going forward.

I’m not sure if Newton will put up top ten numbers by the end of the year, but it’s clearly going to take teams’ time to adjust to what this kid is throwing at them on the field, and your team can benefit from his terrific play. Look for the Panthers to get their first win of the season against the Jaguars. As long as Newton’s hot, you should ride him on your team if you need help at quarterback.

Matt Schaub @ Saints –

I had Matt Schaub listed outside of the top ten quarterbacks to draft this year, the reason being that I didn’t believe he would be a strong weekly option. This week is a good time to roll with Schaub as the Texans will lean on their passing attack as Foster is likely to miss another game with his continued hamstring problems. The Texans will be playing a high-octane offense in New Orleans, so expect Schaub to have a performance that should land him over 350 yards passing.

Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Patriots –

Hopefully, Steve Johnson will be on the field this week after he re-aggravated his groin injury at the end of the teams’ victory against the Raiders. However, Fitzpatrick should have success even without him. The Bills parted ways with Lee Evans because they liked their young receiving corps, and so far so good as Buffalo is averaging around 40 points a game to start the year.

The Patriots have struggled against the pass in the first two weeks, and Fitzpatrick should play with confidence as the Bills look to stay undefeated in a big divisional game.
