NFL Power Rankings: Which 2-0 Teams Look the Weakest?

John RozumJun 7, 2018

Two weeks into the 2011 NFL season, there are seven 2-0 teams. Many come as no surprise whereas others we definitely did not see coming.

In any event, of those 2-0 teams, there are obviously some weak links.

So who are they?

Well, it should cause a debate, to say the least, so here are the three weakest 2-0 teams.

Washington Redskins

Be honest: How many of the so-called NFL experts had the Washington Redskins at 2-0 right now?

Although their schedule was rather favorable with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals at home to kick off the season, Week 3 puts Washington on a plane flight to Texas for a showdown against NFC East rival Dallas.

And after coming off a big (arguably season-saving) win over San Francisco in Week 2, the Cowboys are rolling with some confidence and are hungry to knock off the Redskins.

This game could be very telling about Washington, because if they win, then they're certainly better than advertised.

However, if they lose, the way in which coach Mike Shanahan's team responds thereafter is crucial.

If they were to lose again in Week 4, their true identity will have been revealed.

We're not sure about the Redskins just yet, but they are an interesting bunch after two weeks.

Houston Texans

Yes, the Houston Texans are a much-improved football team and they are the best in their division.

But that division is a weak AFC South and the Texans have only beaten the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins, both of whom are 0-2 right now.

And although they are one of the weaker unbeatens left, that doesn't mean they are a weak team.

Remember, there are only seven 2-0 teams right now, and the Texans are one of them, so although they are elite, they just happen to be the weakest of the elite (if that's any consolation).

The next two weeks, however, will tell us a lot about how good Houston really is, as they play the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers.

If the Texans split those two games or manage to win both, then they are in fact elite amongst the elite.

However, if they lose both and head into Week 5 at 2-2, skeptics will arise a lot faster than previously anticipated.

Make no mistake about it: The Texans are on their way up, but they still have a lot of proving to do.

Buffalo Bills

If there is one team that no one expected to be 2-0 right now, it's the Buffalo Bills.

In Week 1, they played at Kansas City, who was expected to contend for the AFC West title, but Buffalo annihilated them, 41-7.

The Chiefs did, however, lose star safety Eric Berry for the season in that contest.

Then, in Week 2, Buffalo won a shootout with the Oakland Raiders, 38-35, at home, but Oakland's Week 1 victory was a 23-20 triumph over a weak Denver Broncos squad.

Needless to say, although the Bills are an unexpected 2-0, Week 3 is their first true test, as they face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

And much like the aforementioned Redskins, if the Bills win, they become a more legitimate team.

But if they lose, their legitimacy will come in how they respond in Week 4, and in this case, how they respond in a road game at Cincinnati (who has a lot of young talent and potential).
