Poll Results: Which Conference Will the BCS Champion Represent?

The fans have spoken and believe that the Big XII really is the conference to beat this year in college football. With three teams currently 10-1, it would be hard to argue against it.

The Big XII was the favorite choice from the readers, with 61% of the vote going to the conference. The SEC was the second most popular pick with 23% of the votes. The PAC 10 and Big Ten each received 7% of the votes.

The Big XII has three teams in one division with a 10-1 record; Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. This is setting up a bizarre situation with only one of those teams being able to play in the Big XII championship game. If each team has the same record after this weekend, the team with the highest BCS ranking will advance to the conference championship, meaning two 11-1 teams could be shut out of a shot at conference superiority.

As it stands now the Texas Longhorns would be that team. The three teams are in the classic pickle jam of Texas beat Oklahoma who beat Texas Tech who beat Texas. The debates will be intense in the coming weeks depending on what happens.

The SEC is the home of the current No. 1 team in the BCS, undefeated Alabama, but Florida is the trendy pick to knock off the Crimson Tide and advance to the BCS championship game.

USC has an outside shot at the title game, despite the fact that they may not even win the PAC 10, with a loss to Oregon State hanging on their record. Penn State has the longest shot at making the championship game, let alone winning it for the Big Ten.
