WWE: Could the Rock Be the Answer to the Punk, Triple H Saga?
Throughout the situation involving Triple H and CM Punk, many names of past Superstars have been brought up. For example, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Colt Cabana. Guys like Kevin Nash have been brought back and talks have swirled about bringing in Shawn Michaels and Sean Walterman to stir the pot a little bit more.
Except, there is one former Superstar who has been overlooked.Of course I'm talking about The Rock. Or, Dwayne as Punk likes to refer to him most often. Punk has brought up his name quite a bit, but only with the angle that he would play along side John Cena.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Yes, we all know that Rocky will be fighting Cena at WrestleMania in his home town of Miami. Except, that's all the way in April. Now WWE has been promoting his in-ring return at Survivor Series, where he is rumored to be teaming with his Mania opponent Cena. However compelling that may sound though, it seems very unlikely to stay that way.
After their match last night at Night of Champions, Triple H came out victorious with a little assist from appearances and attacks from the likes of The Miz, R-Truth, Kevin Nash and John Laurinitis, meaning that Hunter gets to keep his job as chief operating officer. Now we will have to wait and see how Punk reacts, but the likelyhood of a rematch at Hell in a Cell is exceptional.
Now that Nash has resurfaced and has the possibly of recruiting some of his 'Kliq" buddies to help him, where does this leave Triple H? Better yet, where does this leave Punk and WWE Champion Cena?
Many fans want to see Punk bring in his Ring of Honor friends to help with his cause, but that doesn't seem probable. A scenario that does seem probable would be for Rocky to put his nose into this situation. With his impending return in the coming months, I fully expect him to get involved at some capacity. Rocky has beef with almost everyone centered around this controversy.
Punk has called out the Rock on a number of occasions. Although it was more indirect as this was a way for him and Cena to be on the same page about something during their short lived feud, Dwayne surely can't have forgotten about that too quickly. Triple H and Rock have a lot of history with each other and neither one of them seemed to have any respect for each other throughout their time together during the Attitude Era. Now I'm not positive if Rock and Nash ever really had any interaction with one another during their careers, but Nash's personality is enough to make anybody hate him. There isn't much to go off of with Truth, but now that he's teammates with Miz it can easily work out to some capacity. Plus, Rock never got to give Miz his comeuppance after WrestleMania.
Here's how this could work out. The Rock comes back one night just to say 'Hi' to the WWE Universe again to make sure they don't forget about him. Of course, he won't be out there alone for long. Here come Nash, Truth and Miz to start running their mouths about how Rock shouldn't be there because he's not technically a wrestler until WrestleMania. This easily opens the door for Rocky to go on his ever so famous rants about how Nash is lucky he can walk anymore with how bad his knees are, about how Miz wouldn't have even made it past WrestleMania with the WWE title if it wasn't for him and he will make some very funny quips about how 'Awesome Truth' is the stupidest name for a tag team he has ever heard.
Enter Punk. He will come out to try to stir the pot a little bit more, going on about how it's guys like Rock who are causing the WWE to go backwards instead of forward with the company's image. He could go as far to say that he's no better than Nash or Triple H. Obviously, this will anger Rock and will go on about how he is nothing like Nash cause he can still kick people's ass without ambushing them. Then, he'll cross a line by saying he's a million times better than Hunter, especially considering the number of times he 'whipped his candy ass.'
Enter Triple H. He comes out and starts using a lot of legal jargon like he did at first with Punk to sound like a professional. Rock of course does not back down and starts going after Hunter's job. Just as Triple H is about to walk away from the dispute, he attacks Rock and starts beating him down, being joined by Nash, Miz and Truth, while Punk joins Rock's efforts.
Where does all of this lead? A Rock-Triple H showdown at Survivor Series. If Rock wins, he gets to pick Triple H's opponent for WrestleMania. If Triple H wins, Rock no longer gets to fight Cena at Mania.
Every fan wants more of their favorite stars of the past in matches, so having two legends like Rock and Triple H fighting again would excite today's fans as well as generate old fans.
Survivor Series would once again become a must buy pay-per-view.
So, who would win the match? Well it has to be Rock, because there is no logical way to let him lose his first match back nor would it be smart to 'cancel' the year long hyped match between him and Cena.
Who does Rock pick for Triple H at WrestleMania? Stone Cold Steve Austin.
