Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here is the top quarterback, wide receiver and tight end waiver-wire additions for Week 3.
QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills
There were some questions this offseason regarding what the Buffalo Bills would do in the draft, go for a top quarterback or trust that Ryan Fitzpatrick's late-season surge in 2010 would translate to 2011.
Well, they ended up going with defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, and they are proving that they knew what they were doing.
Fitzpatrick has started off the season red hot, racking up 24 fantasy points against Kansas City in Week 1 and proving to be even more impressive against an Oakland Raiders secondary that looked really good to open the season.
On Sunday, Fitzpatrick racked up another 23 fantasy points, and I think it's safe to say he hasn't missed a beat since 2010.
WR: Nate Burleson, Detroit Lions
Nate Burleson has proven, with the Seahawks and Lions, that he can produce when he's healthy.
He's healthy now, and he's racked up a combined 12 catches for 153 yards in the first two games for the Lions.
He's got a nice young quarterback in Matthew Stafford and he's obviously developed a connection with the young QB. Burleson can be a nice player off the bench or a No. 3 receiver for you, and he's even more valuable in PPR leagues.
His touchdowns will come around, too.
TE: Fred Davis, Washington Redskins
I know what you're thinking: "Fred Davis?! Who the (heck) is he?!"
Well, he just so happens to be the Redskins' second-round pick in 2008, and he's finally realizing his potential.
Davis had 48 receptions for 509 yards and six touchdowns in his second year with the Redskins. After a dropoff last season, he's back, and he's racking up some impressive numbers.
After catching five balls for 105 yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 1, he added 86 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
You start Fred Davis, and you start Fred Davis confidently.
