Mayweather vs. Ortiz: Floyd Mayweather Proves to World He's a Coward

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

Floyd Mayweather is a good boxer, but I firmly believe that he is a coward.

His record is impeccable and his dominance within the ring is undeniable, but when it comes to his antics outside of the ring and the way that he handles most situations that come his way, he is a coward.

Mayweather talks a lot, as most fighters do, but ever since returning to the ring after an extended hiatus he has been underwhelming

Yes, he won the fight against Victor Ortiz with a knock out, but if he’s really the greatest ever why did he need a cheap shot to do it?

It was a cowardly move on Mayweather’s part, but to be honest we shouldn’t be surprised.

I’m sorry, but fighting a few boxers on the wrong side of their careers doesn’t do anything to help me believe that he’s worth the hype!

Not only that, but he has avoided fighting Manny Pacquiao in just about every way possible, yet he has no problem talking about how much better he is, and explaining the type of beating Pacquiao would be in for.

Check out Mayweather’s latest quotes according to Fightnews.com:

"

“Pacquiao is famous because he is attached to my name. When they say Pacquiao, they say that’s the guy they are trying to get to fight Floyd Mayweather. When they say Floyd Mayweather—they say the greatest ever.

“How can you [Pacquiao] offer me anything? I do the offering. He has to get his business in order. When he fights, he gives up 30 percent of his check, I get 100 percent.”

"

These are all false statements and they point to how cowardly Mayweather really is.

First, Pacquiao is not famous because of Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao is famous because he is highly regarded as one of the best, if not the best in the world.

People want to see Pacquiao fight him because they know that it will prove once and for all who the better fighter is, and I think Mayweather is scared that he will lose.

He can’t lose to Pacquiao if he never fights him, and if he never fights him he can continue to run his mouth about how great he is.

Coward avoids confrontation.

Mayweather avoided having to really fight Ortiz by ending the match with a cheap shot, and now I’m sure he’ll continue to avoid fighting Pacquiao for as long as possible.

Maybe one day, Floyd “Money” Mayweather will put his money where his mouth is, but I highly doubt he will have the guts to do so.
