Jamaal Charles and 4 Players We Wished We Hadn't Drafted in Fantasy Football
One of the biggest injury stories of this afternoon is the loss of Jamaal Charles to a knee injury against the Lions. Touted as one of the "elite" fantasy running backs, owners of Charles are now scrambling to get Thomas Jones as a handcuff if they haven't already.
Let's look at some other fantasy picks that have left us disappointed so far.
Arian Foster
1 of 5It wasn't just Foster missing points Week 1 that is hurting your team; the fact that he missed a game opened opportunities for other guys like Ben Tate, who will probably be worked into the offense more and more now that he has gained the trust of the coaches.
Not to mention, hamstring problems tend to linger, so don't be suprised if it takes a while for Foster to regain the majority of the carries.
Chris Johnson
2 of 5He may have just signed a contract that makes him among the highest paid backs in football, but his numbers don't show it.
Perhaps it's the holdout, or the fact that they have played two pretty good run defenses so far against Jacksonville and Baltimore, but Johnson isn't living up the the high draft pick you used to get him.
Peyton Manning
3 of 5This one is for all the suckers who had their fantasy drafts a bit too early this year, before the reports came out that Peyton's neck situation was much worse than we had originally thought.
If you got him early, go and get yourself a Rex Grossman or Ryan Fitzpatrick. And pray.
James Jones
4 of 5It is a wonder why the Packers have even re-signed Jones in free agency. He is currently 5th on the depth chart. Especially after getting Jermichael Finley back, targets for Jones are going to be few and far between.
If you have Jones, you might just want to drop him now. He's hardly worth the bench space at this point.
Ryan Grant
5 of 5Anyone who picked Grant early was banking on him retaining his starting role after spending most of the 2010 season on IR.
However, during his absence, James Starks has emerged as a younger, more explosive option that coaches can trust. Grant is not even getting half the carries.
