NFL Picks Week 2: Which Winless Teams Are Due for Victory?

Jon DoveSep 18, 2011

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys will win this week.  Every team wants to win the opening game, but nobody wants to start 0-2.  The above teams all suffered tough opening day losses.  However, all three will rebound and get their first wins of the season today.

The young Buccaneers are facing some early adversity, after a Week 1 loss to the Lions.  Today they take on another NFC North team, the Minnesota Vikings.  Tampa Bay will likely come out running the football, looking to gain some offensive balance.  Minnesota is also looking to avoid an 0-2 start, but they might not have the horses to compete.

The Ravens and Steelers rivalry is always a great game to watch, except last week.  Pittsburgh was embarrassed, as they took it on the chin.  The Steelers will rebound and pound the Seattle Seahawks.  This will not be a close game, as I expect total dominance.

Ben Roethlisberger will be looking to rebound off his poor performance; look for some shots down the field. After getting an early lead, Rashard Mendenhall will finish the game with tough running.  The Steelers defense will make a run at double-digit sacks, looking to erase their 1 sack effort from last week.

Dallas should have won their opening game, but mistakes led to a loss.  Tony Romo took a lot of criticism, but also took responsibility for the loss.  He will rebound and not only put up big numbers, but also play mistake-free football.

Dallas' offense will look unstoppable at times, as the 49ers search for answers. The San Francisco offense will struggle against this Dallas defense.  DeMarcus Ware and company will bring a ton of pressure, while focusing on shutting down Frank Gore.

Somebody needs to win the Cleveland Browns vs. Indianapolis Colts game, unless there is a 0-0 tie.  I expect the Browns to rebound from their disappointing loss to the Bengals.  Indianapolis is lost without their leader and will struggle in every game this season.
