Mayweather vs. Ortiz: Money Further Proves He's Best Villain Ever

Brandon GalvinJun 7, 2018

There isn’t anybody in the world like Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who is the best villain the sports universe has ever seen.

Mayweather was already the top villain in all of sports, but he further cemented his legacy when he knocked out Victor Ortiz in a controversial cheap shot.

Granted, Ortiz clearly head-butted Floyd, but he also tried to apologize. Like any classic villain, Mayweather listened and then struck when Ortiz least expected.

You couldn’t write a better script.

Mayweather draws arguably the greatest reaction from sports fans and thrives on the hatred. He actively does things just to piss people off.

It doesn’t matter if it’s flaunting his lavish lifestyle, burning down money in a club, trash talking about Manny Pacquiao or hanging out with 50 Cent—you care and you have a strong opinion.

This recent cheap shot KO will only keep momentum on his side. He couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the heavily promoted bout.

Even his post-fight interview was off the villain Richter scale. Mayweather clearly learned a thing or two during his time with the WWE because his interview skills are phenomenal.

The man doesn’t hold back whatsoever and will annihilate you on the microphone or in the squared circle.

Mayweather is untouchable right now. He doesn’t care what you think because he continues to win on all levels. The man has the confidence, swagger, money and track record.

The best part is that Mayweather, like any true villain, doesn’t believe anything he does is wrong. He has his own morals and he sticks to them. He plays by his own rules.

A cheap shot, you dare to say?

Mayweather wouldn’t view his KO as dirty by any means.

Mayweather was defending himself and his honor. When those gloves are on, all bets are off. For all Floyd knows, Ortiz was eying to do the same. Like any true snake, Mayweather struck first and left his opponent lying on the floor.

There isn’t a single man that can stop Mayweather’s transcendence.

Mayweather is the best thing going in boxing right now. He is driving the money train and interest. We all want to see somebody knock off the villain, which is why there is such a heavy interest in a potential bout with Manny Pacquiao.

Without Mayweather’s actions and villainous nature, Pac-Man wouldn’t be able to play the hero role in the fight. Without Mayweather, we barely have any reason to be interested in boxing.

Without Mayweather around, boxing may not even survive.

The Sports Gods have blessed us with “Money” Mayweather. Without him, our lives wouldn’t be as complete. Mayweather is the villain we all want to pummel. We picture ourselves as his opponent punching him the face.

There isn’t anybody like Mayweather in the sports world and it would be difficult for anybody to top him. Thank you, Mayweather, for coming back and blessing us with your villainous presence.
