NFL Picks Week 2: Which Teams Have Absolutely No Chance?

Jon DoveSep 18, 2011

The NFL has a good competitive balance, but there are always teams that are overmatched.  Each week there are several teams that appear to have no chance of winning.  The reasons could vary from injuries, poor coaching or just lack of talent.  Below are a few teams that appear to be overmatched this weekend.

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a season where they earned a playoff berth and a surprise victory over the New Orleans Saints.  However, they appear to have taken a step backwards.  The offseason decision to bring in Tarvaris Jackson and let Matt Hasselbeck go was questionable.

In their matchup against the Steelers, they appear outmatched at every position.  Seattle will struggle to move the football, as the Steelers will get a ton of penetration.  They also have the task of dealing with the Steelers wrath after their tough loss to Baltimore.  Seattle has no chance of getting a win today.

Cam Newton had an impressive debut, but now he faces a much tougher matchup.  Newton will need to remain poised, as he is sure to face a ton of pressure.  The Green Bay Packers will be bringing the heat, hoping to rattle the young quarterback.

Newton and the Panthers are facing a Packers team that appears to be in midseason form.  They will have a hard time moving the ball and also stopping Aaron Rodgers.  Newton is also without his starting right tackle, giving Green Bay a clear area to attack.

The Houston Texans are a team on a mission.  They are riding high after the big victory over the Indianapolis Colts.  This week the Miami Dolphins are in the way of this non-stop train, still licking their wounds from last week's loss.

Houston has a ton of confidence, as they appear to finally have some balance.  Their defense has made good strides, creating pressure and getting the ball back to their offense.  Miami is going to have a tough time getting a victory.
