Video evidence: Semir Stilic (Celtic)
Lech Poznanโs 21-year-old playmaker, Stilic, dubbed the new Zvonimir Boban, is having a superb season in Poland, as his form is attracting the attention of a host of European teams, with Celtic emerging as the most likely destination at present for the skillful Bosnian.
From the Premier League, rumours have linked Fulham, Tottenham, West Brom and West Ham to the central attacking midfielder, however Stilicโs agent has suggested, that due to his clientโs lack of international caps, work permit make it easier to move to Scotland.
According to Miro Jaganjac, โin the English case, it seems that he has not played enough international matches to gain a work permit. But it seems that is easier in the case of Scotland.โ But the agent went on toย stress that his client is not fishing for a move.
โ[Stilic] is very happy there and neither he nor I are actively trying to find a new club for him. However, it is good that his form is being recognised and if thereโs a good offer then, of course, anything can happen.โ
Gordon Strachan is mooted to be lining up a move for ยฃ2.5 million bid in the transfer window (Lech have reportedly already turned down a ยฃ2 million bid for their starlet), and such a signing could be the perfect remedy to plug the hole which is about to opened with Shunsuke Nakamuraโs imminent departure from Parkhead.
And the comparisons with Nakamura resonate on the pitch. Standing 6ft tall, Stilic has a silky leg foot and excellent upper body strength which allows his to glide through midfield and develop the attacking play. Such has been his high performance this term, that Stilic has already chalked up nine goals. Of particular note has been his performances in the UEFA Cup, where he has netted against Grasshoppers and Nancy.
