NFL Fantasy Football Week 2 Injury Report: 3 Huge Injuries to Be Aware Of

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

The absolute worst feeling as a NFL fantasy football player is realizing that you didn’t pay attention to the injury reports.

Starting an inactive or even hurt player is never good news for a fantasy owner, especially if you’re trying to win your league.

Wins don’t just grow on trees you know; they are carefully thought out and planned.

You have to be smart to be a winner, and that’s true of fantasy football as well.

One mistake could lose you a matchup, and one matchup can cost you a season.

In some leagues it can also cost you a lot of money.

The moral of the story is that you need to be aware of injuries.

Here are three huge injuries that I beg you to pay attention to:

Calvin Johnson, WR Lions

Johnson’s status is questionable for the Lions' bout with the Chiefs. Obviously he is a starter in most leagues, so now may be the time to switch him over to the bench for a week. I expect that even if he does end up getting in the game his production will be fairly limited. It’s simple; if you have an adequate backup, it probably won’t hurt you to sit Johnson.

Dez Bryant, WR Cowboys:

Bryant was badly hindered in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss, and he’s missed practice all week with a bruised quad. It’s a tissue injury which means that the chances of it impacting him for a while are pretty high. He looked horrible dealing with it last week, so I think it would be a smart move to sit him.

Arian Foster, RB Texans

Foster is supposedly going to play against the Dolphins. Fantasy owners are going to be champing at the bit to get him back in their lineups, but I think it’s best to exercise some patience with him. He’s been dealing with this hamstring injury since training camp now, so it’s not a stretch to think that it may continue to hinder him.

Consider that plus the fact that his backup Ben Tate looked really good. He will be most likely splitting time this week, and I don’t trust his hamstring just yet.
