Fantay Football Week 2 Injury Report: 3 Questionable WR's You Must Start

Michael DixonSep 18, 2011

When you see a player listed as questionable on the injury report, what do you do as a fantasy owner?

It's really a tricky scenario. We don't necessarily have the most in depth reports. Teams tend to be secretive with injuries. So, if you're going to activate a player, you want him to pay off.

All of these players are officially listed as questionable. Still, if you play them and they play, the risk will pay off.

Calvin Johnson

Johnson is officially questionable, but I can't see him not playing. If he does, he will have a huge day.

Kansas City's defense just got torched in Kansas City by the Bills. The Bills have fine receivers, but none of them are at Calvin Johnson's level.

Without Eric Berry, Matthew Stafford will find Johnson early and often. There are a few players near Johnson's caliber that aren't worth the risk.

This one just isn't much of a risk.

Johnson is set to have a huge day against the Kansas City secondary. In Detroit, the Lions will look to make a statement. That will be made with Johnson.

Santonio Holmes

Matt Hasselbeck threw for more than 250 yards against the Jacksonville defense. Think about that for a second.

Mark Sanchez isn't a prolific passer or anything, but he did throw for 335 yards against the Cowboys.

Santonio Holmes was responsible for 70 of those yards, catching six passes along the way. In a PPR league, six receptions for 70 yards is a strong showing.

I don't expect that production to drop against Jacksonville. Remember that Holmes is really the only Jets WR that Sanchez is familiar with. Plaxico Burress had a strong game in Week 1, but Holmes was also effective.

Sanchez will put Holmes on his radar from another strong showing.

Lance Moore

I will admit that this is the choice that I am least sure of. If he plays, I expect big things. The only fear is that Moore is more questionable than the other players on this list.

It may be crazy, but I'll take that chance. With Marques Colston inactive for a month, Moore will become a big target. If Drew Brees is targeting you as his main guy, I want you on my fantasy team.

The Saints have plenty of options at receiver, but Brees will look to get Moore into the action. With his injury progressing, I'll take my chances.

Generally speaking, receiver is a deep enough position where you don't need to risk playing an injured player. Still, these guys are worth taking a chance on and activating.

LIFE HURTS. THIS INJURY UPDATE BROUGHT TO YOU BY DICKIES.
