Brian Kelly vs Mark Richt: Who Is More on the Hot Seat Heading into Week Three?
For the coaches of the Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the hot seat must be considered an extended shadow of the two by now as Brian Kelly and Mark Richt can’t go anywhere with the topic being brought up this season.
As we start with the Bulldogs, Mark Richt can finally get to catch his breath today as Georgia will welcome Coastal Carolina to Athens, who actually has a better record than the home team, as the Chanticleers are 2-0 on the 2011 season.
The fans at Sanford Stadium will leave the stadium this week with a win but not early like last week when the Bulldogs got clipped by the South Carolina Gamecocks 45-42 in the opener of SEC East play this season.
On the other side of this hot seat duo, Brian Kelly has finally come back to a normal color after exploding on the sideline in a fit of rage for the mistakes made by his team.
While Kelly has calmed down, the Irish will have a tough test as Michigan State will come to South Bend with a tough defense along with a play making offense led by Kurt Cousins.
If Notre Dame falls to 0-3, which I expect to happen today, the hot seat for Brian Kelly will rise to a very uncomfortable level after the Fighting Irish lose their second straight home game, after losing to South Florida on week one.
Is it time for people around the country that are fans of the Fighting Irish to realize that their program is not a top-tier football team anymore?
