UFC Fight Night 25: Shields vs. Ellenberger Results and Live Play-by-Play
Tonight, welterweight contenders Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger will meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 25, which will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Ellenberger defeats Shields by technical knockout at 0:53 of the first round.

McGee defeats Yang by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-28).
Erik Koch vs. Jonathan Brookins
Koch defeats Brookins by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).
Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald
Belcher defeats MacDonald by submission (punches) at 3:48 of the first round.
Cody McKenzie vs. Vagner Rocha
Rocha defeats McKenzie by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:49 of the second round.
Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey
Dunham defeats Bailey by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Justin Edwards and Jorge Lopez clinch early. After some jostling for position, Lopez lifts and slams Edwards. Edwards looks for a guillotine, but Lopez escapes it and stands.
Now, Edwards secures takedown along the fence. Lopez stands, but Edwards lands some big shots and puts the Wand Fight Team product back on the canvas.
After Lopez quickly escapes again, Edwards lands a lead left hook with less than two minutes left in the round. Lopez clinchez and lands a huge knee, though.
Edwards is smothering Lopez along the fence, which is making the difference on the scorecards in this opening frame.

Round 2
Lopez lands a kick to the body, but Edwards answers with a spinning back kick. Edwards clinches and secures another takedown against the cage.
Edwards dives on a guillotine choke attempt, but Lopez slides out of it and ends up on top. He lets Edwards stand, though.
A lead left hook lands for Lopez. Edwards secures another takedown, though, and takes Lopez's back with two minutes left in the round.
Edwards begins to unload right hands, but it allows Lopez the chance to reverse positions. Edwards quickly stands, and the round comes to an end.

Round 3
Lopez takes Edwards to the ground in the first minute of the last round. Edwards looks to secure a kimura, but Lopez frees his arms gains full mounts.
Edwards rolls and gives up his back. Lopez drops bombs, but Edwards rolls again and regains half guard.Edwards works his way to his feet with less than two minutes left in the fight.
Lopez takes the fight to the ground again, but he likely needs a finish. Edwards threatens with an omoplata as the bout comes to an end.

Mike Lullo vs. Robert Peralta

Apparently Robert Peralta watched Mike Lullo's fight with Edson Barboza, because he is attacking Lullo's leg immediately. The effects of those outside leg kicks are already showing on Lullo's lead leg.
Peralta lands a thudding kick to the body with about one minute left in the round. Peralta is teeing off on Lullo now. He lands to right hands to the temple of Lullo and follows up with a kick to the body.
B/R scores the round 10-9 Peralta.
Round 2
Lullo has a mouse on the left side of his head. Peralta attacks Lullo's lead leg again to start the second round.
Peralta defends a takedown and lands a right hand as the fighters separate. Lullo's lead leg is useless at this point.

Round 3
The fighters clinch against the cage early in the third round. Lullo simply hasn't been able to take this fight to the ground, which is where he has the advantage.
Lullo continues to look for the takedown with less than two minutes left in the fight. Finally, he drags Peralta to the canvas.
Peralta escapes, though, and cracks Lullo with a right hand. Lullo secures another takedown, but it probably won't be enough on the scorecards.

T.J. Waldburger spins Mike Stumpf around with a leg kick. Walburger takes advantage and ends up in back mount.
Waldburger looks for an armbar, but Stumpf defends it and escapes. Waldburger takes the fight to the ground once again, though.
Waldburger attempts an armbar from side control. He transitions to a triangle choke and forces Stumpf to tap.
Waldburger defeats Stumpf by submission (triangle choke) at 3:52 of the first round.
Clay Harvison vs. Seth Baczynski
4 of 12Round 1
Clay Harvison comes out firing inside leg kicks to the lead leg of Seth Baczynski. Baczynski clinches and lands a series of knees to the body of Harvison.
Baczynski lands a standing elbow as the fights break against the cage. A left hook lands to the head of Harvison. Baczynski is looking to secure a takedown in the final minute of the round, but he decides against it as Harvison looks for a guillotine.
Harvison lands an elbow as the round comes to end, but the round should go to Baczynski.

Round 2
Baczynski drops Harvison with an uppercut early in the round. Baczynski follows Harvison to the ground and looks for the finish. He takes Harvison's back and secures a rear naked choke for the win.

Ken Stone vs. Donny Walker

Ken Stone opens the fight with a slapping inside leg kick. Stone clinches with Donny Walker and takes the fight to the ground.
Stone takes Walker's back as the latter attempts to stand. Stone sinks in a rear naked choke. Walker goes to sleep after fighting it off as long as he could.
Stone defeats Walker by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:40 of the first round.
Matt Riddle vs. Lance Benoist

Lance Benoist lands a hard straight left hand to the chin of Matt Riddle. After a break for a low blow, Riddle lands a right hand and head kick.
Riddle takes the fight to the ground, but Benoist attacks from the rubber guard immediately. Benoist sweeps and lands in full mount. Riddle hip escapes to half guard, but he is now in danger of losing the first round on the scorecards.
B/R scores the round 10-9 Benoist.
Round 2
Benoist continues to get the better of Riddle in the stand-up early in the second round. Riddle secures another takedown, though.
Midway through the round, Benoist escapes and takes Riddle down. Benoist's nose is broken, but he is working ground and pound from the top. Riddle lands an upkick to Benoist's face, which is pouring blood.
B/R scores the round 10-9 Benoist (20-18 Benoist).
Round 3
Both fighters land knees to the body. Riddle catches a kick and takes Benoist down. Benoist hip escapes and moves from side control to full guard.
Riddle lands a big right hand with two minutes left in the fight. Depending on how the judges saw the first two rounds, he might need a finish here.
Benoist is in survival mode as the fight comes to an end.

Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey

Evan Dunham is pumping his jab to start the bout. Shamar Bailey hits Dunham with two left hooks, though. Another big left hand lands for Bailey.
Two minutes left in the round, and Dunham hits Bailey with a straight left. Dunham's straight left is finding a home with consistency now.
Dunham hits Bailey with two head kicks in the final minute of the round. Bailey takes Dunham to the ground in the closing seconds of the ground, but he can't control the position.

Round 2
Bailey lands another left hook. Dunham briefly takes Bailey's back in a scramble, but Bailey escapes. Dunham looks to secure a takedown, but Bailey defends rather easily.
Dunham is loosening up now. He lands a series of combinations to the head of Bailey. Bailey looks to be fading as Dunham is teeing off.
Dunham stuffs a takedown and begins to pick Bailey apart to close out the round.

Round 3
Bailey pushes forward to start the round. Dunham begins picking his opponent apart, though, after surviving the initial blitz.
This is an impressive performance from Dunham, but props must be given to Bailey for staying on his feet. Dunham looks for a standing guillotine, but the final buzzer sounds.

Cody McKenzie vs. Vagner Rocha

Cody McKenzie lands a head kick to start the fight. Vagner Rocha presses forward and clinches. The fighters separate, and after a break for a low blow, Rocha lands two kicks to the body.
Rocha secures a takedown with less than three minutes left in the round. Rocha transitions from submission attempt to submission attempt, but McKenzie some how escapes.
McKenzie finishes the round with a big shot to the chin of Rocha.
B/R scores the round 10-9 Rocha.
Round 2
McKenzie lands a right as Rocha charges in. Rocha secures another takedown and shows his jiu-jitsu prowess by avoiding McKenzie's famous guillotine.
Rocha looks for a D'Arce choke, but McKenzie escapes. Rocha's grappling ability is on full display in in the second round. He is thinking three steps ahead of McKenzie.
Rocha secures a rear naked choke, and McKenzie is forced to tap.

Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald
9 of 12Round 1
Alan Belcher initiates the clinch in his first fight in more than a year. Jason MacDonald secures a body lock and pulls guard.
Belcher tags MacDonald with a heavy right hand from full guard. MacDonald covers up and survives an onslaught from Belcher.
Belcher defends a kimura attempt and moves to side control. Belcher drops elbows, which force MacDonald to cover up again. Referee Dan Miragliotta steps in and stops the fight.
Belcher defeats MacDonald by submission (punches) at 3:48 of the first round.
Erik Koch vs. Jonathan Brookins
10 of 12Round 1
Jonathan Brookins is looking for the takedown early. Erik Koch defends but eats an elbow along the fence. Brookins continues to grind away the first minute of the fight along the cage.
Koch circles away and lands a straight left, which is followed by a slapping leg kick. Brookins takes the fight to the fence again, though.
B/R scores the round 10-9 Brookins.
Round 2
Koch looks to keep distance to start the second round, but Brookins closes and looks for a takedown. Koch defends and separates, though.
Koch lands a nice left hook after scoring with an inside leg kick. Brookins tries to drag Koch to the ground, but Koch ends up on top. Brookins quickly stands and presses Koch against the fence.
Brookins finally secures a takedown with one minute left in the second frame. Koch escapes fairly quickly, though.

Round 3
Koch lands a straight left. Brookins clinches and lands a knee to the body.
Brookins continues to grind away against the fence. Koch separates and lands a few inside leg kicks. He clinches and attempts a lateral drop, but Koch defends.

A feeling-out process early on ends with Dongi Yang landing an inside leg kick. Another leg kick lands to the lead leg of Court McGee, who answers with a counter right.
Both fighters are landing leg kicks and slipping out of range. Yang's strikes seem to be more damaging than McGee's, though

McGee tags Yang with a right hand. An inside leg kick also lands for McGee in the first minute of the round.
McGee looks to take the fight to the ground, but Yang shrugs him off. Yang presses forward with a lead right hook.
Yang lands a left hook with slightly more than two minutes left in the round. McGee is denied on another takedown attempt.
Yang lands an inside leg kick and straight left. McGee lands two solid left hands in the closing second of the round.
