NFL Predictions Week 2: Which Defenses Will Get Absolutely Obliterated?

There were several high-scoring games in Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season, and I expect a few more this weekend. Two teams in particular should be expected to give up a ton of yards and points in Week 2.

The Carolina Panthers gave up 394 yards of total offense in a 28-21 opening-week loss to the Arizona Cardinals and face a much stiffer test in Week 2. The Green Bay Packers travel to Carolina this weekend, fresh off a 399-yard, 42-point performance in Week 1.

The Packers looked incredibly dangerous offensively last Thursday in a 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was hitting on all cylinders, as he completed 27-of-35 passes for 312 yards, with three touchdowns. Rodgers led an incredibly efficient attack that seemed to score at will, especially early on.

Green Bay also rushed for 103 yards against New Orleans and didn't turn the ball over. Carolina's defense isn't as good as the Saints' and no one should expect the Panthers to be able to stop the Packers this weekend. In fact, it could get ugly fairly quickly.

The Seattle Seahawks didn't give up a ton of yards in their 33-17 Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but they have a much stiffer opponent this weekend.

The Steelers welcome Pete Carroll's team to town and Pittsburgh's bunch is looking to put a beating on someone.

In a 35-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week, the Steelers looked awful in all three phases of the game. They turned the ball over seven times, and gained just 312 yards of total offense. I don't think anyone expects the defending AFC champions to stay down for long.

This Sunday, the Steelers are almost guaranteed to bounce back and put a hurting on the Seahawks. In fact, Seattle fans may want to plan on watching something else at the half.
