NFL Power Rankings Week 2: Which Teams Will Continue Freefalls?
Among the surprises in Week 1 of the NFL season were two serious collapses that saw division winners from 2010 get blown out by teams that didn't make the playoffs last season. The Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts looked terrible last Sunday, and things might not get better for a while.
The Colts are obviously at a serious disadvantage, missing their franchise quarterback in Peyton Manning, but I don't think any expected them to look as bad as they did in Week 1.
Kerry Collins subbed for Manning and couldn't do anything as the team was smoked by the Houston Texans by a score of 34-7. The Colts have always been led by a strong passing attack, but with Collins in charge, it could be a while before the ship gets righted.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Indianapolis gained just 236 yards of total offense against the Texans, and Collins completed just over 50 percent of his passes (16-of-31). The running game was atrocious (64 yards) and the offensive line was leaky (three sacks, seven quarterback hits).
While the Colts face an easier task this week against the Cleveland Browns, they'll probably still be 0-2 to start the season, unless the offense makes a miraculous recovery.
Collins and the offense can't possibly be as bad as they were in Week 1, but a slight improvement won't lead to a win in Week 2.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are still reeling from a 41-7 Week 1 shellacking from the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs got absolutely smoked in their opener, and gained a measly 213 yards of total offense. The defending AFC West champs got just 56 yards from running back Jamaal Charles, while quarterback Matt Cassel's 64.5 quarterback rating is actually better than what you'd assume if you actually watched the game.
This week, the Chiefs travel to Detroit to take on a red-hot Lions team that looks like a real contender in the NFC North. With Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry out for the season with a torn ACL, the Chiefs will have serious trouble defending an explosive Lions offense.
I don't expect either the Colts or the Chiefs to look as bad as they did in Week 1, but neither team will turn things around for a while based on what we saw in their openers.
