NFL Odds Week 2: 5 Prop Bets Worth Gambling On
Week 2 of the NFL regular season features another full slate of 16 games and plenty of betting opportunities.
The national media has been busy building up and knocking down players all week, which has provided tremendous opportunity to score big with proposition wagers.
Let's take a look at five props that will win you cash this week.
Donovan McNabb, Interceptions
1 of 5Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb was just 7 of 15 passing for 39 yards last week versus the San Diego Chargers, while throwing a touchdown and an interception.
The former Philadelphia and Washington signal-caller has thrown 56 pass attempts the last two years in match-ups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without throwing an interception.
He has also played 13 career games inside a dome, throwing just five picks.
Recommendation: Under 1/2 total interceptions (+155)
Michael Vick Shown in Falcons Jersey
2 of 5How many times will Michael Vick be shown in a Falcons uniform during the live broadcast of Sunday's game?
That's an interesting proposition offering that I feel offers some value.
I feel that plenty of fans will take the opportunity to bring banners and posters with Vick donning the jersey that he wore inside the Georgia Dome for years.
The television directors will make this one fly over the posted total.
Recommendation: Vick shown in Falcons jersey, Over 1.5 (-160)
Cam Newton, Total Passing Yards
3 of 5Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton threw for 422 yards in last week's 28-21 road loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
That's quite a feat, but the rookie will now be facing a ferocious Packers pass rush that is steaming after allowing 419 yards to New Orleans signal-caller Drew Brees.
Casual bettors are also quick to forget that Newton failed to complete half of his passes during the preseason.
It's time to come back to Earth.
Recommendation: Under 210.5 passing yards (-115)
Tom Brady vs. Philip Rivers, TD Passes
4 of 5New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for a career-high 517 yards and the betting public is likely to think he'll throw for 600 in Week 2.
It's interesting to find that San Diego Chargers signal-caller Philip Rivers is being offered at the same price in the betting market to throw more touchdowns in Sunday's match-up.
Brady threw for just 159 yards and a single touchdown in last year's meeting in San Diego.
That is a signal to me to go the other way.
Recommendation: Rivers more TD passes than Brady (-115)
Michael Turner, Most Rushing Yards
5 of 5The Atlanta Falcons need to get back to running the football and that means getting Michael Turner more than 10 carries in Week 2.
The 250-pound back gained 100 yards versus the Chicago Bears last week despite limited action, but professional bettors expect him to be the featured attraction inside the Georgia Dome Sunday.
Philadelphia lucked out with St. Louis running back Steven Jackson going down early in last week's contest. The Eagles defensive line and linebackers will be tested, as the Falcons do not want to fall to 0-2.
Recommendation: Michael Turner most rushing yards (+700)
