Reggie Bush's Status for Packers Game Is Mysterious
Conflicting and confusing.
Earlier this week, Reggie Bush and Sean Payton were “optimistic” for Bush’s return to the Saints lineup for the Packers game, but things many have changed. Fox Sports reporter, Jay Glazer, reported that Reggie is “Questionable” for tonight's Monday Night Football matchup, according to his sources.
If he can not play, Pierre Thomas, Deuce McAllister and newly-acquired Mike Bell will “RUN BY COMMITTEE” for the Saints. This can work, but Bush’s presence on special teams and in the passing game would be sorely missed by New Orleans.
Watch for the Packers linebackers to key in on the run and blitz Drew Brees early in the game. The desired way to neutralize their attack would be with Jeremy Shockey (if he holds onto the ball) and Billy Miller. Fantasy owners may want to pick them up, if it is not too late.
The wideouts will face the some physical defensive backs like they experienced with the Vikings. unfornately, Lance Moore and Devery Henderson don't fare well against more physical DB's. This is why Reggie would have been great to have in the lineup. If you take them long and expose the linebackers, then the Saints can move the ball in the middle of the field.
Let’s see if Bush can make the return. I’m starting to wonder if most of Reggie’s injury recovery is more psychological rather than physical. Or, is it Payton’s psyche we can call into question?
