Tom Brady Video: Watch Brady's Tailgating Tips for New England Patriots Fans

Tom Brady has caused quite a stir thanks to a quote attributed to him on Wednesday. He was asked if he had any advice for the fans who would be in attendance for Sunday's game against San Diego. He responded by telling everyone to drink a lot.

"Start drinking early," said Brady, who is the reigning NFL MVP. "Get nice and rowdy. It's a 4:15 game; they'll have plenty of time to get lubed up and come out here and cheer for their home team."

After he said that, the public relations department for the Patriots was left to do damage control. They basically said that he was not encouraging people to drink alcohol, but to hydrate with water because temperatures are expected to reach the 60s on Sunday in Massachusetts and you might collapse due to the heat.

If this was anyone else in the world besides Tom Brady, it would not be a story. However, because it was Tom Brady, who is usually so reserved and calculated when talking to the media, everyone is having a field day with it.

I don't believe that Brady intended to advocate that people get drunk, walk into a football stadium and wreak havoc on the Chargers for 60 minutes. He was trying to be funny and he chose his words poorly, which happens to everyone at some point in their life.

(By the way, does it really matter if Brady is saying this? Do NFL fans really need someone telling them to start drinking before a game?)

Still, it is fun seeing Brady, who is the golden child and usually does no wrong, left scrambling as the PR people for the Patriots are forced to earn their paychecks this week.

This quote will be used by the Brady haters as one more reason to root against him, and the Brady apologists are going to defend him no matter what he says.
