NFL Picks Week 2: Which Teams Will Be NFL's Best 0-2 Squads?

John RozumJun 7, 2018

Every new NFL season, each team has an external standard set by those not directly affiliated with the organization.

And with that in mind, some teams who are considered contenders start off slow, and then if they're fortunate, catch fire mid-season and make a run.

That being said, here are the three best 0-2 teams in the NFL after Week 2.

Atlanta Falcons

They won the NFC South in 2010 and earned the top seed, but fell to the eventual Super Bowl champs.

That divisional playoff game where the Green Bay Packers routed the Atlanta Falcons preceded the Falcons slow start to 2011.

They first were dominated by the Chicago Bears (also of the NFC North) and now play host to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

As we all know, Philly is extremely loaded, and after losing in Week 1, the Falcons are desperate for a win.

However, with a weak pass defense and an offense that was kept out of the end zone by a solid Bears defense, it doesn't get any easier this week.

The Falcons will start out 0-2, but are still good enough to make a run at the postseason.

St. Louis Rams

For starters, the Rams are definitely a team on the rise and started off great against the Eagles in Week 1.

But Philly was simply too talented for the upstart Rams. However, being in arguably the NFL's weakest division (the NFC West), St. Louis is far from being out.

Now yes, they have another tough game this week on the road against the New York Giants, and they will start out 0-2.

Luckily for the Rams, they're getting some experience playing good teams early on, which will bode well for later in the year.

And when they play within their own division, well, playing these hard teams early is just going to make the NFC West that much easier.

Kansas City Chiefs

Although they have lost safety Eric Berry for the season, and they will start out an unexpected 0-2, not all is lost for the Chiefs.

This is where we will find out who they really are, and how badly they want to repeat as division champs and make the postseason.

Overcoming adversity such as this is what separates the great teams from the good teams, and Kansas City has that opportunity.

Now despite losing Berry, K.C. still has some solid talent on defense in DL Glenn Dorsey, LB Derrick Johnson, and DB Brandon Flowers. Also, QB Matt Cassel, RB Jamaal Charles, and WR Dwayne Bowe lead the offense.

In addition, the AFC West is easily the conference's weakest division, so don't be surprised if the Chiefs make a nice comeback from the 0-2 start.
