Week 2 AFC East Predictions: Will the New England Patriots Dominate Again?

Brian RoachSep 15, 2011

The AFC East will shine even brighter in Week 2 and could even go 4-0 this coming week.

The AFC East started off great in Week 1 in the NFL. Three out of the four teams got a much-needed victory, especially the Buffalo Bills, who easily defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 41-7.

The New England Patriots cruised to the 38-24 victory over the Miami Dolphins thanks to reigning MVP, Tom Brady. Even the New York Jets came back from a 14-point deficit to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 27-24. And the Dolphins lost to the tough divisional rival Patriots.

Let's start out with the first game of the day.

Buffalo Bills Hang on to Defeat Oakland Raiders 24-21

1 of 4

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a monster day against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but with a tough Oakland Raiders defense, it will be a closer game than Week 1.

C.J. Spiller will be running all over the place and expect Fitzpatrick to have another good outing in the victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars Run All over New York Jets Defense with the 28-17 Victory

2 of 4

Maurice Jones-Drew is one of the toughest running backs to defend against, and he will prove that against the Jets this weekend.

He will run for over 100 yards and will score two touchdowns to give the Jets their first loss of the season.

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will be roughed up and will be sacked three times.

New England Patriots Use Final Drive to Defeat San Diego Chargers 30-24

3 of 4

The Patriots will have to use everything in their offense and defense to defeat the Chargers.

The Chargers have a great defense, and with Philip Rivers as their quarterback, it looks as if they could keep up with the Patriots.

Tom Brady will not be as good as Week 1, but he should be good enough to outlast the Chargers in the final minutes of the game with a great touchdown pass to Chad Ochocinco for the win.

Houston Texans Bring It to the Miami Dolphins and Win 31-7

4 of 4

Just like the Patriots offense blitzed the Dolphins defense, the Houston Texans will outplay the Dolphins in this Week 2 matchup.

Matt Schaub will hook up many times with Andre Johnson for big yardage, and it will help the Texans move in the right direction for their 2011-2012 campaign.
