Week 2 Fantasy Football: 3 Sleeper TEs Who Will Explode
While most fantasy owners are concerned with their running backs and quarterbacks, one position that has long been overlooked is tight end.
The tight end position has evolved greatly over the past decade or more in the NFL, and it is now a staple in the passing attack of nearly every team.
Outside of the Top Five fantasy tight ends, it is difficult to decide on a starter week in and week out. There are plenty of tight ends capable of putting up big points on a weekly basis, but it can be a guessing game sometimes.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here are three tight ends who very well may be free agents in your league, and whom you should start this week based on matchups.
Daniel Fells - Denver Broncos
While the Denver Broncos didn't do a great job of utilizing their tight ends last season, Daniel Fells is an athletic pass catcher who should fit well into their spread attack.
Fells made just three catches for 32 yards against Oakland on Monday night, but he was third on the team in targets with six and should get plenty of opportunities this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals allowed six catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns to Cleveland Browns tight ends Ben Watson and Evan Moore last week, so they are certainly susceptible to being burned by Fells.
If quarterback Kyle Orton looks to Fells this week as much as he did last week, he should be able to put up solid numbers and find the end zone.
Lance Kendricks - St. Louis Rams
After an impressive preseason in which he seemed to form a nice rapport with quarterback Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams rookie tight end Lance Kendricks was tabbed as a potential sleeper.
Kendricks made just one catch for 18 yards, though, in St. Louis' season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kendricks has plenty going for him as he prepares for a Monday-night showdown with the New York Giants, however. Slot receiver Danny Amendola is out with an elbow injury, so Bradford will need somebody to step up in short-yardage situations. Kendricks is certainly capable of that.
Also, a Giants defense depleted by injury was torched by Redskins tight end Fred Davis for 105 yards last week. Kendricks possesses that same type of athletic ability, so he should be in for a big week.
Heath Miller - Pittsburgh Steelers
Among fantasy's Top 10 tight ends just a couple years ago, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller has faded into obscurity somewhat due to Pittsburgh's affinity for running four-wideout sets.
Miller was involved in the offense last week against Baltimore, however, as he made three grabs for 42 yards.
The Steelers, who lost to Baltimore 35-7, will welcome the Seattle Seahawks into town this week. The Seahawks suffered a loss to San Francisco last week and look to be a fairly weak team this season. Pittsburgh will be desperate for a victory and could very easily blow Seattle out of the water.
Since the Steelers should have plenty of opportunities to score, Miller has potential for a big game because of his effectiveness in the red zone.
Miller's yardage numbers are hit and miss, but as long as he reaches pay dirt, he'll be a valuable play in Week 2.
