NFL Week 1: Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Others Start out with a Bang
During a weekend where the country commemorated the 10th anniversary of 9/11 while on high alert for possible terrorist attacks, the only attacks occurred on the offensive side of the football in stadiums across the country.
The NFL’s Week 1 starts out with a (good) bang!
Drew Brees started out throwing for 419 yards. Big day for Brees, but well within his scope. Aaron Rodgers threw BBs through an eye of a needle. Tom Brady had a beyond Tom Brady day, with 517 aerial yards.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Those guys can be expected to produce magical performances.
But when Chad Henne and Cam Newton both gain over 400 yards, and Jay Cutler, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tony Romo bust out the whipping stick with well over 300 yards—then either they drank some 9/11 juice or they were just super glad to see us (fans) in a meaningful game.
By halftime of Sunday’s games, you knew it was going to be a magical opener to the NFL season.
We saw lopsided victories by the Texans (who took out a few years of frustration on the Colts by halftime), and the Ravens (who went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs on the Steelers D, after a heaping hand of seven turnovers).
Defensive players across the league wagged their tongues like Fido running a few miles on a hot day.
One thing became clear—the lockout favored the offense. The Pats-Dolphins Monday night game was the second-best offensive output of all time, with 1,110 net yards.
Brady had the fifth-best passing yard performance of all time.
If you are an offensive fan like me and this keeps up, my wish to dear old Santa may be for another lockout next NFL season.
