NFL Power Rankings: 3 Teams Destined for Top-10 Glory in Week 2

Gabe ZaldivarSep 14, 2011

Could I possibly interest you in three amazing tales of redemption? Well, take a seat as I open the book labeled Week 2 in the NFL

The 2010 season is not so far off that we can't recall the plight of some of the following clubs. For one team, the San Diego Chargers, their hopes of capturing the AFC West were dashed by sloppy play and special teams gaffes.

Tampa Bay were like the little kids that get applauded for coloring within the lines. Sure, they were a good team, but now it is time for them to prove their growth and maturity.

The Lions have been a dreadful sight, targeted as an assured win on many calendars, but not this year. The 2011 season will be different for each squad, and it begins this weekend.

No. 20 Kansas City at No. 13 Detroit

The Chiefs are on the wrong side of Ol' Uncle Momentum at the moment. The Chiefs carried over the preseason doldrums, and were blasted by the Bills.

The Lions have a playoff squad when Matthew Stafford is healthy. Their pass rush is exceptional and their offense is prolific. This team will start to creep up the rankings, making believers of out of the most cynical Lions fans.

No. 14 Tampa Bay at No. 23 Minnesota

The Vikings thought they had their quarterback of the next few years in Donovan McNabb. Think again.

A young Buccaneers squad will get back on track in Week 2, reminding us of the promise they showed a year ago. Tampa Bay is too talented to fall to a plummeting squad.

No. 11 San Diego at No. 2 New England

This game has upset all over it. Two first-class quarterbacks do battle in what should be a high-scoring affair.

The Chargers can't get back much of their swagger by quieting a red hot Patriots squad on Sunday. New England scares me with a lackluster secondary that allowed Chad Henne to get off some passes on Monday. That should never happen.
