UEFA Champions League 2011: Manchester United Will Halt Benfica's Unbeaten Run
Benefica's unblemished Champions League record is about to come to a screeching halt. They are set to face the beast that is commonly referred to as Manchester United.
Benefica revamped their team this summer, and it is paying instant dividends. Benefica lost a bunch of marquee players and have managed to get better in the process. They sold Ramires, Fabio Coentrao, David Luiz and Angel di Maria.
They replaced these guys with a group of up-and-coming players that are headlined by Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel. And they are rolling right now.

They currently have 10 points in four Primeira Liga matches. They aren't rolling enough to be able to handle the Red Devils, however.
Manchester United are destroying their opponents right now. They won their last two matches against Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers by a combined score of 13-2.
They are currently suffering through some injuries.
The Red Devils are deep enough to handle the injuries, though. Phil Jones has been amazing on defense. Michael Carrick is a competent sub for the injured Tom Cleverly.
They also have one of last season's top scorers waiting to play with Dimitar Berbatov.
This is truly a case of embarrassment of riches. And the fact of the matter is that they may not need much more than Wayne Rooney.
Rooney is playing the best soccer of his life. He is a force. When he isn't busy scoring goals for himself, he creates them for his teammates. He will not let this team lose, and Benefica will fall victim to his determination.
