Arsenal Get "Robinho-de"

Callum D'SouzaNov 22, 2008

Another disappointing performance by Arsenal, which now sees them struggling to make the top four and even struggling to get wins. It was a dreadful match by the Gunners and a poor team was player by Wenger, it's been a long time since Arsenal lost 3-0.

Johan Djourou was the only player who rarely made a mistake, whilst the others were pillocks. Abou Diaby thought he would get in some kind of trouble if he didn't pass the ball and became the team "hog", Alexandre Song was at his usual damaging best with a number of passes going astray, Denilson thought he was supposed to miss a heap of tackles and constantly give the ball away and Nicklas Bendtner did what he usually does.

Though, to be fair to Arsenal, they were missing their main midfield player and leader Cesc Fabregas, thier powerhouse forward Emmanuel Adebayor, and thier reliable right back Bacary Sagna.

It was Bacary who I think we missed the most as Gavin Hoyte's lack of experience hurt us down the right side and you feel Sagna would have contained Robinho. Cesc Fabregas would of also made a huge difference as the central midfield looked extremely lost with out the maestro in defence and attack.

I feel Wenger also played a part in the loss with the team he played, especially in the midfield. Abou Diaby is not a winger and I do not see them point of playing him there when you have got the likes of Jack Wilshere and Fran Merida who are better suited to the wing.

It was obvious that Aaron Ramsey should have started and that Song should have been in the defence with Djourou playing on the right. Also to go with Bendtner when he has continually been disappointing and leave Vela—who has shown what he can do—on the bench was a bit mad. Bendtner scuffed a few of the very little chances Arsenal had.

Arsenal did look a tad better with Robin van Persie but Wenger had gone with a 4-4-1-1 which was a mistake, the 4-4-2 would have been much better as not enough ball saw van Persie and too much saw Bendtner.

Mabye it is time to give the youngsters a chance as they seem capable of big things, the likes of Mark Randall, Fran Merida, Jack Wilshere, and Aaron Ramsey make a solid midfield.

It's a rough patch for Arsenal and January seems very distant but I am hopeful that the Gunners will get back in form and they will need to as their next game is against Chelsea.
