According to a press release from the executive producers of HBO, the HBO Zone channel will have a six hour nonstop block of boxing programming with the intentions to promote and remind everyone to purchase the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz, HBO pay-per-view that evening.

What are your thoughts on HBO taking this drastic new step in promoting their HBO pay-per-view fight like they never did before? Will it be effective? Will the fans channel surfing come across this and be instantly reminded and sold to purchase the pay-per-view?
In my personal opinion it can only help and promote the fight and over all the sport of boxing.
It may be that HBO as well as Golden Boy promotions may finally have seen how successful the UFC has become in promoting their pay-per-view fight cards in a similar fashion with their partnership with their networks.
If I was on the executive producer board of HBO sports, I would even go a step further and show a few of the live under card fights as well, but again that's just me.
