Keith Marshall: Top Schools and Best Situations for the Elite Running Back
Keith Marshall is in the process of taking his visits and actually just came back from his first one this past weekend. He's one of two uncommitted RB prospects in my Top 20 players for 2012.
Marshall is a hot name on the trail, as many schools want him to tote the rock for their program for the next three to four years.
Who are his top schools? What are the best situations for him?
Let's see.
Back from Athens
1 of 4Marshall took his first official visit to Georgia this past weekend and had a great time. Jay Rome was one of his hosts and even though this was his sixth time being in Athens, he still learned a little more about the program.
Marshall also acknowledged that although he did not spend much time with Isaiah Crowell, he feels the two could become a great tandem for UGA.
This could be a great situation for Marshall, as even he told Scout.com that he and Crowell could push each other and keep each other fresh.
Georgia looks pretty good right now.
Gainesville Is Likely Next
2 of 4Marshall's next visit will be to Florida on October 1st. The Gators are another prime team, as playing in the SEC does appeal to Marshall.
With Florida already having pledges from RBs Matt Jones and Mike Davis, there are some obstacles for a Marshall and Gator Nation marriage.
However, the consensus is Marshall is viewed as a bit better prospect than the previously-mentioned commits. This is an interesting situation to follow between Marshall and UF.
South Bend Awaits
3 of 4October 22nd is the date that many Irish recruiting fans are salivating over. This is the weekend USC comes to town, as many of the Irish' top targets of affection will be visiting.
Marshall will also be there.
The Irish are hot after Marshall, as they feel his 4.3 speed would work wonders in their offense. I honestly believe that Marshall could come in and be "The Man" for the ND rushing attack as a true freshman.
That has to be on his radar.
Marshall Doing the Blacksburg Bounce?
4 of 4An interesting development, per Scout.com, has Marshall stating he is in the process of scheduling a visit to Virginia Tech.
The Hokies have gotten into the race and I think Marshall would be the biggest RB prospect to sign with VaTech since Kevin Jones did a decade ago.
Marshall to VaTech would be a very interesting signing, as Frank Beamer is putting together a potential Top 15 class. Marshall would be the clear-cut headliner and likely get many touches as a true freshman.
