Tim Tebow: Why Denver Broncos Need to Draw Up More Packages for QB
While I am of the opinion that Kyle Orton should be the Denver Broncos starting quarterback, that doesn't mean Tim Tebow should never see the field.
As long as the Broncos keep Tebow on the active roster, they should take advantage of his unique skill-set. No, I don't believe they should have him out there on every drive, standing in the pocket and attempting to read and pick apart defenses. That is obviously not where his strength is.
But when the Broncos want to change things up a bit, why not at least put together a wildcat package for him?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Orton is clearly a better pocket quarterback than Tebow, and he fits what head coach John Fox wants to do offensively. But the Broncos could certainly use some kind of life added to their offense, so why not take advantage of what we know Tebow can do?
In some short-yardage situations and possibly in the red zone, putting Tebow in from time to time would at least give defenses another look to prepare for. Another bonus would be that it would satisfy a segment of the team's fanbase that wants to see the former Heisman Trophy winner get some snaps.
While Orton is almost certainly going to be the quarterback for the Broncos this season, the team should still try to take advantage of every player on their roster.
Last night, as a team, Denver rushed for just 38 yards. While adding Tebow to the mix isn't guaranteed to increase that total by a lot, it couldn't hurt.
Hey, we all saw him run the ball a few times last season for some big yardage. It might be smart to add him to the mix. At the very least Fox and his staff would be giving the kid a chance to do something other than hold a clipboard.
