Arian Foster Injury: Why Fantasy Football Owners Should Start the Texans RB

Andrea HangstJun 4, 2018

While Houston Texans running back Arian Foster missed his team's Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts, as the days go by, it is looking more and more likely he will take the field this Sunday when his team takes on the Miami Dolphins.

According to Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, Foster worked out on Monday and the hope is to have him on the field for Wednesday's practice.

Although nothing is guaranteed, the news from the Texans is indeed far more promising than last week, when Foster was unable to either work out or practice, causing him to miss the season opener.

Fantasy GMs anxiously awaiting Foster's return shouldn't have much longer to wait. My thought is that he will practice on Wednesday, though he may be limited. If his hamstring feels fine and he can take the field with the team on Thursday, it's nearly a 100 percent chance that he will play on Sunday afternoon.

Don't let Foster's recent hamstring issues deter you from starting him on Sunday if he is announced to play. Even if Foster plays with less-than-perfect health, he will still have a major impact, gaining significant yardage for the Texans, and in turn, your fantasy team.

Remember, he played on an injured knee for most of the 2010 season and he still managed to lead the league in rushing yards.

And don't worry about Ben Tate, either; Tate's talented fill-in performance last week will give way to Foster this week. Foster is the starter for the team, and that position has not been jeopardized by him missing one game.

Foster will not play if he is not ready, but it's looking better and better every day that he will in fact be ready. Once he is back on the field, he instantly returns as a fantasy football must-start.
