Novak Djokovic: Regis and Kelly Reveal Djokovic's Ability to Save Tennis

Jun 4, 2018

While Novak Djokovic may not be an American athlete, he may be the perfect solution for a failing tennis following in the United States.

And leave it to Regis and Kelly to expose this truth.

With Djokovic winning the 2011 US Open against tennis legend Rafael Nadal last night, the fact that Regis and Kelly were dancing with the star means people know him more as the tennis player that dances than the man who has destroyed the competition this year.

A meltdown from the only American star worth paying attention to in Serena Williams means the people who are casual fans will be looking to follow another star that provides some excitement.

Djokovic has been known to play gags and make fun of people, and its that kind of light-hearted manner that will endear him to the casual fans. It will also bring people who don’t like tennis to see what he will do next.

The best part of this is the fact that he is this loose after dominating a sport like few others ever have, losing just one match in 2011, and destroying two of the best tennis players to ever step on a court in Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Tennis has missed the kind of edge that Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi brought to the court, and instead of looking for the next American that viewers can get behind, the sport should have been looking for a guy like Djokovic.

Not only is the man clean cut and family safe, the fact that he is a serious champion and the world’s No. 1 while still having a great time makes him the new face of tennis.
