Dallas Cowboys: Why Big D Will Definitely Rebound from Loss at Jets

Raj PrashadSep 13, 2011

Tony Romo was burdened with problems after Sunday night's heartbreaking 27-24 loss to the New York Jets on an emotional night in New York.

He fumbled the ball just short of scoring—which would have all but sealed a Dallas victory—then threw a crucial interception to the Jets' Darrelle Revis on the very next possession.

Despite all of their problems Sunday night, Romo and the Cowboys can, and will, bounce back this season.

Felix Jones Will Carry the Load

1 of 4

The Jets defense is undoubtedly one of the best in the league.

With that said, Felix Jones did his job Sunday night at the New Meadowlands.

Jones rushed 17 times for only 44 yards and one touchdown, but was effective against the Jets.

Dallas led New York 24-10 heading into the fourth quarter, but strayed away from the run game when the Jets started putting points on the board.

The Cowboys will finish games when they are ahead by feeding the dynamic back out of Arkansas.

Cowboys Know They Can Rely on Their Defense

2 of 4

The Cowboys defense showed the world they can hang with a high-powered offense.

For the most part, the Dallas defense shut down Gang Green.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene collectively rushed for 1,680 yards in 2010, but only accrued 42 yards rushing on 15 carries.

Mark Sanchez threw for 335 yards, but was sacked four times and intercepted once.

Dallas won't be forced to take chances on offense this season, realizing they can rely on a stout defense.

Tony Romo Will Find His Confidence

Tony Romo knows what he has ahead of him.

Romo had a golden opportunity Sunday night against the Jets to get his team off to a hot start. He looked jittery against the feisty New York defense, but was starting his first game since breaking his collarbone last season.

Other than a late-game fumble and an ill-timed interception, Romo had a relatively good night, throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns.

In his post-game press conference, Romo took responsibility for his actions on the field and will take advantage of the talent around him.

Cowboys Will Win the NFC East

4 of 4

The Eagles have the "Dream Team," but the Cowboys have the complete team.

Philadelphia will absolutely make the playoffs, just not the way most analysts had them.

With Tony Romo finally taking advantage of his skill, Felix Jones as an every-down back and an upgraded defense, the Cowboys will win the NFC East.
