NFL Scores Week 2: Which Teams Should Be Ashamed of Themselves?

Chris TrapassoSep 19, 2011

You would think the Kansas City Chiefs would come out flying against the Lions to atone for their humiliating defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.

Not the case.

The Lions had their way with KC, beating them 48-3.

Matt Cassel looks very timid behind center, and the defense makes no impact against the run or pass.

Ok, maybe they weren't ready to build off their 10-6 season of a year ago.

But the Ravens, coming off their "Super Bowl" win over the arch-rival Steelers in Week 1 were anything but super in their Week 2 loss to a less talented Titans club.

Stunning.

Baltimore's defense was dominant against an efficient Steelers offense last week, and made Ben Roethlisberger very uncomfortable, but Matt Hasselbeck did essentially whatever he wanted on Sunday.

The veteran signal caller threw for 358 yards and found Kenny Britt nine times for 135 yards and a score.

One would think that if the Ravens held Chris Johnson to 2.2 yards per rush and only 58 yards they easily came away with a victory.

Joe Flacco and Ray Rice connected on a 31-yard score in the second quarter, but other than that the offense was held in check, as Flacco threw two interceptions and finished the game with a paltry 51.2 quarterback rating.

The offensive line had issues blocking for Rice as he rushed for only 43 yards on 13 carries.

Certainly a shameful performance for the Ravens.

I haven't forgotten the Miami Dolphins or the San Francisco 49ers, either.

For Miami, can they treat their fans to a home victory for a change?

They've lost 11 of their last 12 in Sun Life Stadium, and even with rookie Daniel Thomas amassing 107 yards on the ground, their defense once again let them down when it mattered most.

The 49ers put up a valiant effort against the Cowboys, knocking Tony Romo out of the game for a stretch, and had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

But Romo returned and San Francisco squandered a fantastic opportunity to begin the year 2-0.

What was Donte Whitner doing on that play-action fake in overtime?
