Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This controversial clip above shows a pretty sick hit by San Francisco 49ers safety Madieu Williams. Ultimately, Williams got penalized with an unnecessary roughness call, "shoulder to the head of a defenseless receiver."
Was the penalty warranted?
You be the judge.
To me, it looks like a clean play. Williams hit Seattle TE Anthony McCoy's shoulder before making contact with his helmet. I understand that the referees have been pretty much forced into making these types of calls, but this was clearly a clean hit.
You can only protect these players so far. Football is football; no matter what, it will be filled with injuries and hard hits, and from a fan's perspective, these types of penalties are ruining the game.
Don't get me wrong; I fully support protecting NFL players, but in this case, Williams and the 49ers were unfairly penalized.
Take a look at the clip for yourself. What do you think?
