Panthers vs Cardinals: TV Info, Over/Under, Spread and Final Pre-Game Prediction

Alex KaySep 11, 2011

The Carolina Panthers are going to have their hands full when they head into the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals.

Rookie Cam Newton is making his first NFL start on the road and he will simply be overmatched against a Cardinals’ defense looking to get revenge for a subpar season last year.

I expect the Cardinals to win and to win big.

For some reason Vegas is giving too much credit to the Panthers and their atrocious offense and suspect defense.

The Cardinals added Kevin Kolb this offseason and he will solidify the one position they struggled so hard to fill after Kurt Warner retired.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (-7) over Carolina Panthers

You have to love a team giving just a touchdown to a rookie making his first start in the NFL.

This is one of the biggest locks of Week 1 and something you should bet the house on.

I love the Cardinals in this one and have no problem conceding the seven points.

Cam Newton is going to make rookie mistakes and the Cardinals’ defense has one of the easiest match-ups of the year today.

Over/Under (37.5)

Go with the over in this game. Both of these teams have the ability to put points up, especially the Cardinals here. I expect them to romp the Panthers and put up at least 28 points.

Larry Fitzgerald is the best receiver in the NFL and will come out with a ton of catches this evening.

Prediction

Cardinals over Panthers, 35-7. The Panthers are simply terrible and will not be able to put a lot of points up against the Cards.

Arizona's offense will overwhelm the Panthers and this will be a lopsided victory in their favor. Look for the Kevin Kolb era to begin with a bang.
