Falcons vs. Bears: TV Info, Over/Under, Spread and Final Pregame Predictions

Alex KaySep 11, 2011

The Atlanta Falcons are the safest Week 1 lock you can bet on. They are going against the Chicago Bears and will absolutely crush them on the road.

Jay Cutler is going to have a rough day behind one of the worst offensive lines in all of football. The team lost their elder statesmen and most solid lineman in Olin Kreutz to free agency and will struggle to contain the Falcons’ pass rush.

Atlanta snagged Ray Edwards from the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason and will have a beastly defensive line with him along with John Abraham. Abraham was a one-man wrecking crew last season and will appreciate the help.

Let’s take a look at how you should bet this game and win some money.

TV info: Local on Fox

Falcons (-2.5) vs. Bears

The Falcons are going to win this game and they are going to win it big. They will overpower the weak Bears’ secondary to assert their dominance early in the season.

They are an absolute lock to cover this spread because of their awesome pass rush, high-flying offense and ability to shut down a weak Bears’ receiving corps.

Roy Williams, Devin Hester and Johnny Knox are all sub-par receivers who won’t be able to use their athleticism and speed with Cutler under pressure all game. Look for the Falcons to limit the Bears to a couple of points while scoring a ton against a leaky secondary

Over/Under (41)

I’d much rather take the Falcons points and leave it alone, but if you need the action go with the under.

The Falcons are going to do enough to win the game and cover, but they may not put up a huge number of points. The Bears offense is so atrocious that I can see them failing to put a single point on the board.

Prediction

Falcons 24, Bears 7

This easily covers the spread and puts them under. I really feel like the Falcons are going to score and do enough to win the game. They won’t run up the total but the also won’t let the Bears get any easy scores on them.
