WWE: 10 Predictions Leading Up to WrestleMania XXVIII
WrestleMania XXVIII is about seven months away, and there is a vast range of possibilities on what could happen in the WWE before the big day in Miami.
We still await the return of the Undertaker, and the major championships have been changing hands at a rapid pace.
Here are 10 predictions about what we will be seeing in the coming months leading up to WrestleMania XXVIII.
John Morrison Will Win the Royal Rumble
1 of 10Why not start out with one of the boldest predictions on this list?
John Morrison has been lost in the depth of Monday Night RAW despite the fact that he was in a WWE Championship match just a few months ago. His feud with R-Truth promptly ended, and now, he is stuck in limbo on RAW.
We all know that he is capable of being a main eventer, but that doesn't seem possible on RAW now, considering all of the other main eventers on the roster.
It is for this reason that John Morrison will win the Royal Rumble in January and will go on to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania.
This way, Morrison can make the change over to Smackdown where he can have a regular impact, and even if he does not win at Wrestlemania, he will be a consistent main-event superstar on Fridays.
CM Punk Will Be out of the WWE Championship Picture Until WrestleMania
2 of 10CM Punk may have won his first WWE Championship in July at Money in the Bank, and he may be the "Best in the World," but he is going to have to wait a while before he gets his hands on the WWE Championship again.
Punk is currently tied up with the whole Triple H and Kevin Nash situation, and he will be for some time. Kevin Nash will be back; I have no doubts about that, and that storyline will continue until at least Survivor Series in November, if not later.
After that, I do expect Punk to re-insert himself into the WWE Championship picture, and I bet he is in a match for the title at WrestleMania.
Kane and the Big Show Will Return Looking for Payback
3 of 10Everyone knows that this one is going to happen.
Mark Henry put down both Kane and the Big Show over the last couple of months and has become the No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Champion in the process.
When Kane and Big Show return from their "injuries," expect them to come looking for vengeance against the World's Strongest Man.
Kelly Kelly Will Lose the Divas Championship but Re-Gain It
4 of 10The WWE is making Kelly Kelly into a legitimate threat in the Divas division, but she can only hold off Beth Phoenix and Natalya for so long.
Whether it happened at Night of Champions or a later pay-per-view, Kelly Kelly will lose the Divas Championship soon.
But she will win it back. She will make a comeback and re-claim the championship in the months leading up to WrestleMania just in time for Kharma to make her return.
I don't think Kelly will be able to hold off Kharma, but expect Kelly to have the championship heading into WrestleMania XXVIII.
Rey Mysterio Will Feud with Sin Cara
5 of 10We all want to see it happen.
After Rey return's from his injury, he is going to need somebody to feud with, and who better than the other mask in the company, Sin Cara.
By the time Rey returns, Sin Cara's possible feud with the fake Sin Cara will probably be coming to a close. This will set up for a perfect mask vs. mask feud, which could end in a match at WrestleMania.
The Rock vs. John Cena Will Not Be for the WWE Championship
6 of 10John Cena and The Rock are the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII. Cena claimed that the match will be for the WWE Championship.
It will not be for the WWE Championship.
Cena would have to win the championship back in order for that to happen, which he is fully capable of, but that will not happen.
If their match was for the WWE Championship, John Cena would win and everyone would expect it heading into the big event. The Rock couldn't win the championship simply because he doesn't have the time to be on RAW every week with his acting career.
John Cena and The Rock will have an incredible main event in Miami, but it will not be for any kind of championship.
Mark Henry and Sheamus Will Both Win the World Heavyweight Championship
7 of 10There is a lot of time before WrestleMania XXVIII and when you consider how often the major championships have been changing hands, you can expect to see a few more changes before WrestleMania.
Mark Henry should win the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell. I think he will lose at Night of Champions but then win at Hell in a Cell two weeks later. He has too strong of a push right now and it would surprise many if he didn't win.
Randy Orton may win back the title but he will not have it heading into WrestleMania, I see him doing something else, which I will say a few slides from this one.
So if Orton ends up out of the picture for the WHC, I would expect Sheamus to be given multiple opportunities over the next few months. He has been great as of late, and he, like Mark Henry, deserves a shot at the championship.
Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler Will Feud over the WWE Championship
8 of 10Alberto Del Rio will not lose the WWE Championship at Night of Champions. The WWE is about to do their tour of Mexico in October, and there is no way that they will not have their Mexican aristocrat be WWE Champion when they make the trip there. Del Rio also needs a lengthy title reign if the WWE wants to make him a legitimate champion.
If Del Rio can hold on to the Championship for a good amount of time, he will need somebody to feud with. Punk should be preoccupied with the McMahons, and Nash and Cena will eventually be preoccupied with the Rock.
The Miz and R-truth are fighting for the tag team champions, and Rey Mysterio is injured, so who will Del Rio face?
I believe it will be Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler is ready for another main event push, and if he loses the United States Championship at either of the next couple pay-per-views, he will be poised to make a run in the main event picture with Del Rio.
And maybe there will be no more Vickie Guerrero? Who knows.
Chris Jericho Will Return
9 of 10It has been nearly a year since Randy Orton punted Chris Jericho out of the WWE on RAW.
Jericho has stated that he has plans to come back to the WWE, even if it is only on a limited basis, but he has no timetable for when he will return.
The WWE could really use some Jericho right now. I think he will be back before WrestleMania and will probably be added to the Smackdown roster.
Smackdown desperately needs more names on their roster, and the addition of Y2J, no matter what his position is on the show, will be a big-time addition to Friday nights.
Randy Orton Will Face Undertaker at WrestleMania
10 of 10Speaking of people who need to return to the WWE, The Undertaker also needs to make his return soon in the next few months.
When he makes his return, he will be looking for someone to face at WrestleMania XXVIII to try and keep the streak alive. I think the man to challenge him will be none other than Randy Orton.
Orton may be the current World Heavyweight Champion, but as I said earlier, I think he will lose the championship and then be distracted with the Undertaker, whether Taker screws him over in a match or he simply feels like trying to break the streak.
Yes, the Undertaker did defeat Orton in 2005 at WrestleMania 21, but it is not like this would be the first time Undertaker has wrestled somebody twice at the biggest event in wrestling. Orton is a different superstar than he was six years ago, and it would be a great match to watch.
But let's face it, Undertaker's streak isn't going anywhere. Orton will face him, and lose.
20-0.
Hope you enjoyed. Share your thoughts and start getting prepared for next spring!
