NHL: The 6 Funniest Alex Ovechkin Commercials

Now while some may argue that off-ice distractions are bad for an NHL player's concentration, Alex Ovechkin has decided to ignore that old adage for his six-season NHL career. 

Ovechkin has been the subject of countless commercials related to different sponsors, networks and other media outlets looking to exploit the Russian's awkwardness and bad acting skills. 

Needless to say, the commercials are absolutely hilarious. Here are six of the funniest for some lighthearted humor before the season gets in full swing.  

NHL Road Trip

Alright this may not be totally Alex Ovechkin but it is still one of the best NHL commercials out there. 

Funniness:

• Joe Thornton eating chocolates
• Turco getting a pie in the face
• "Ovechkin!"

Eastern Motors

Ovechkin trying to pronounce "Eastern Motors" in a singing tone brings a smile to my face.

At one point does he request shots of vodka? Oh Ovie. 

Mr. Big

Absolutely ridiculous in almost every way but still makes you giggle. There are plenty more Mr. Big commercials out there but they are a bit...odd.

Funniness: 

• "I'll get your pigskin"
• "Ladies."

Capital One

Looks like just a normal bank commercial with a professional athlete right?

Wrong. Penguin. 

CCM Commercial

On a side note, Ovechkin no longer supports CCM and switched to Bauer over the summer. Sadly that means no more U+ Crazy Light commercials with a decapitated Ovechkin head.
