NFL Predictions Week 1: Jets Will Spoil Tony Romo's Return to Gridiron
The Jets have had some issues in the offseason. Most of them surround their offense, which was never a top-of-the-line unit.
With the exception of Santonio Holmes, Mark Sanchez will be throwing to a largely new group of receivers. While Derrick Mason and Plaxico Burress are fine players, it does shake a young quarterback to see new receivers out there.
But the Jets offense is not what took it to consecutive AFC Championship games. No, the defensive unit was responsible for that.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While they did lose Shaun Ellis, New York's defense is still strong.
Any unit with Darrelle Revis will be strong. He basically shuts down an entire half of the field on his own. That goes a long way in offsetting any other holes that there may be.
Rex Ryan gets a lot of attention for his words and some off-the-field stuff, but let's take a look at his playoff record, shall we?
He's 4-2 in the playoffs in two years as a coach. But in order, these are the four quarterbacks who Ryan and his defenses have beaten: Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
Would you mind having any of those guys as your team's quarterback? I sure wouldn't.
Those games haven't exactly been shootouts, either. And they have all been on the road.
So now Tony Romo and his Cowboys are making a trip to New Jersey to start the season. The Cowboys are eager to put the mess that was the 2010 season in their rear-view mirrors.
That's all fine, but it's going to have to wait a while.
The Jets have their issues, but they also have a lot of talent.
As for the Cowboys, their bad season was not because of Romo’s injury. They were already off to an awful start before he got hurt.
And what about Wade Phillips? Well, Phillips is not a good NFL head coach, but the Cowboys players have no right blaming him for their struggles last year.
They just didn’t play their best for him. That doesn’t say much about them as players or professionals.
The Jets don’t have a team that’s really suited for a traditional blowout. I like the score of this game to be pretty close. But when the game is over, the better team will clearly be the Jets.
Prediction: Jets-17, Cowboys-10
